Not to thrilled about the name but I honestly don’t care that much.

The thing I’m very concerned about is them revolving around traps. Traps in the game are 90% useless at the moment and honestly someone wielding a longbow shouldn’t be close enough for traps. I don’t want to do a dungeon and rely on traps. I don’t want to do world bosses and have to rely on traps. Traps are boring and completely un-fun. I think it’ll be creating a playstyle that will turn into one boring sequence for every fight.

1. Lay traps
2. Try to pull enemies (Obviously will never work in wvw or pvp, who would follow)
3. Let traps hit enemies.

We don’t yet know all the skills but from just reading that blog post I’m scared. Please Anet, don’t make the focus of this spec be traps! =[

Do people really think that they would build a spec around something if they do not have plans to fix those supposed issues before/at the same time as the spec is release?

If this is so then why haven’t they said anything about changing them? Also, how do you fix a trap? It’s still a trap. You still have to go in lay it down and bait something through it…

By making it a ranged ground-targeted skill?

That kind of ruins the point of a trap. It won’t work in competitive pvp because people will just back off. It barely works in pve due to random aggro.

Wells had a theme, too, now they are just a ground-targeted skill.

As for how useful they are in pvp would depend on how they function, how long their arming time is, whether they are invisible while being armed or nor, etc.

You can still fill a capture point with traps, though, so I suspect they will lend themselves to bunker builds.

Don’t Rangers traps become gound targeted by default with the new trait-system? I’d imagine it will be the same for the Dragonhunter. So basically they are now glorified Marks…or other way round.

Do they? If that’s the case it wouldn’t be so bad. Well, depending on range and how long it takes to cast.
