Dragons Stand the migraine map
I’ll admit that DS is the most unstable map, but maybe you should join a squad? I’ve done DS daily for a good bunch of weeks w/o any dc’s.
Use this:

And use LFG to find a squad on an organized map at the appropriate time.

I spent 4 and a half hours last night trying to get into a DS map with people in it, succeeded once got disconnected. I was in a squad, got shunted to empty map. I used LFG and joined a multitude of different squads always sent to an empty map. I spent 30 minutes in the company of a sylvari player attempting to get into an active map we partied up and got sent to different empty maps, but when we returned to the tangled map we would be placed together. There is something wrong with the system.
You’re not getting placed on full maps, because everyone is trying to taxi, and full maps are really full.
The soluion lies not in changes to multiserver system, but in working on scaling on that map, so some events (circle running, for example) can be done with much smaller number of people.

reserved spot on map for disconnected ppl for at least 3-5min… that would be sth i’d really appreciate.

Well, yes. That one is definitely something Anet should consider.

I found out that as long as I turn settings to MINIMUM, and participate as little as I can while keeping camera panned really close to the floor (aka I don’t help much on events) I can stay on DS maps no Dkittenil the MoM part.
During the MoM part, do the exact same thing, keep camera staring down at the floor zoomed in and try not to move too much. When the plant event spawns on your island then kill plant for personal reward bar to go up.
While this method is downright unhelpful to your team, at least you can make it to the end and unlock the merchant that sells plated weapons. GL!

Not that people start metas in maps with smaller numbers. Dragon’s Stand does require 5 people per lane, but only very very rarely I see people actually doing this with 5 people. And when it does start with 5 people on each lane, it only takes so long before it turns into “taxi people in!” I think scaling is already there, but the majority of people isn’t good enough to play at that difficulty level or more likely, not comfortable.
In a way it’s like explorable dungeon difficulty, without knowing how the dungeon route goes. Added with the time constraints of open world metas. And in a bigzerg you have time to kitten around and do whatever and still succeed.

I have seen this being done with less than 10 people per lane. It’s relatively ok till you get to the 3 bosses part. And then you just get slaughtered, as the number of mordrem and the strength of the bosses doesn’t seem to scale down at all.
You could manage with 12-15 people there, but only if each of them was really good and knew fully what to do (which is obviously not very common).

You do it wrong. I never ever had any problems getting into a populated map by just joining on map reset via LFG tool. Don’t know what you do… just join early enough. It’s no big thing. Some people just seem so helpless in this world, I wonder how they survive the real life…
