Did a search but nothing came up.
After watching three players run past Neary’s start point I decided to start it.
Then soloed it until the last part, when I was joined by another player.
As we reached the pact base, Neary had a chat with the Chief engineer.
During this I got the ‘Inactive’ message and lost the credit for the quest I started.
Needless to say, Doc Elly was on her own..

It’s an issue with her dialogue that I have brought up several times. The escort events should complete once they enter the camp but for some reason the final escort doesn’t because of that dialogue.

I’ve had that on several of those quests and also on the “rescue 10 injured peeps” quest. In the latter I’ve been in a group that has rescued, protected and escorted 8 of the 10 then run to help the ones coming from the other side but not got there in time to engage any mobs. By the time the counter gets to 10/10 I’m flagged as inactive. Once you’ve tagged a couple of the quest mobs it really should keep you flagged as active for as long as you are in orange event circle.

And, yeah, a couple of times I’ve been flagged as inactive whilst standing around waiting for the rather lengthy dialogue to end. I get that they want to discourage “tag and run” but there should never be cases where legitimate participants go unrewarded. At the very least they should extend the inactive timer a little.

Were you the person who basically soloed it then that happened? I saw it in map chat. Bad luck man.

Yet this will probably never get fixed. All because of people kittening about other people leeching. I am less annoyed with people tagging and running than not getting credit for an event I’ve been pushing the whole time. This also happens with the Patriarch in VB if you happen to get knocked off at the wrong time and have to run back. Throwing the eggs also doesn’t count as participating. -_-

Normally it wouldn’t bother me so much but the fact I soloed most of it sort of grated.
The rescue 10 people one is even worse because that sometimes spawns hordes of bugs, sometimes champs and you can lose credit while fighting as they are time consuming.
Then again, there is the flip side where you get rewards for quests when you were only in the same area.

Yeah, don’t die at Axemaster, by the way. By the time you get back from respawning, you’re “inactive.” It’s actually extra irritating, since one wipe makes everyone doing the event quit.

The system for losing participation has always seemed a little iffy. It was really, really bad for a while, and it has improved, but I still get messages when I have to respawn, or, even stranger, long after an event has already ended. Weirdness and confusion abound.

Yup. Concentrated on VB last night, trying to follow event chains from start to end, and a number of times got “you’re inactive” for things I was actively doing. I persevere, bottling up the pain inside until it grows and festers into something.

One time I got the inactivity message for the wyvern patriarch while I was fighting the wyvern patriarch, that was pretty great.

I’m also frequently told that I’m not participating in events that I finished 10+ minutes ago, which I guess is technically correct, but still

Yep, I have gotten inactive when they’re talking. I sometimes try to give out boons;don’t know if that helps.

The only thing that seems to count is non-zero damage. Throwing the eggs at Patriarch does 0 damage so that doesn’t count.
