Dynamic Events in HoT and Repetition
Yeah, they do seem a bit repetitive already, and also, they tend to take a bit long, like 1-2 waves too many, or a little too much HP, so that they outlive the “fun” point by about 2-3 minutes per phase (occasionally much more).

Yeah…i noticed that too…its just a cycle from day to night, and back to day…there is..not at least what i noticed, upgrading VB security, therefore there is lack of motivation to keep on doing said events…now if the security reaches level three or something, a mega boss will spawn, that will give some motivation to protect the rallies..till then..its…meh.
I’m sure the progress bar in the meta event UI will mean something in the final product. That and the eventual implementation of rewards will make doing these events more compelling. But I feel like that stuff’s a nice bonus, the real important aspect is if these events are fun to do for more than an hour or two.
Some of them tend to last a little too long, yeah. Or rather, that it’s the same thing going on for 5 minutes and nothing to break up the action. I almost feel like the defense events could use tougher mobs, so that defending a point isn’t just going through the motions for 5 minutes.

I hope though that they don’t make it like Dry Top, where if the whole map doesn’t perform 100% and you don’t max everything out then the entire time you spent there is a huge waste of time because you only get substandard rewards. The rewards you, as a player, earn, should be based on your own performance, not the performance of other players on the opposite side of the map. The less influence you have over an outcome, the less influence that outcome should have over you.

I have also felt this. I am fairly sure I remember hearing that unlike the silverwastes events, the effect of having set up camp and completing event chains would have far longer-standing effects than it did there in order to give the events far more meaning. And sure, the event doesn’t trigger right away, but the whole chain just repeats and repeats and repeats. Once you know the quest chain, you know where the events are, and its just grind. The events don’t have enough significance longer term and its entirely predictable. Boring. Grind.
Another issue I had with the events was that, especially on the nobles side of things, they were tactically terrible. Why would any group of people decide to set up three or four different areas for flimsy tents that could not be even nearly adequately defended. They have the pact commander and other people there to advise them, they are in fear for their very lives, and yet the placement of the tents is not in line with either people in fear for their lives, nor for safety. If you are stuck out in the jungle trying to survive, I can’t see this being realistic, even for nobles.
Saying that, I did very much enjoy the story behind many of the quests here. I liked the dialogue a great deal, showing the different characters’ personalities. The storytelling is good!
