Dear all

As a GW veteran I boughy GW2 from the start and played it for about 6 months on the Underworld sever, majorly focussing on wvsw (part which I love the most about GW). Unfortunately back then my new job and private life asked for me to stop playing for a while. When revisiting the game however I found myself a game which drastically changed. My once so beloved server was in the bottom of the wvsw ranking and due to the fact that no one seems to be playing this part of the game we dont stand a chance vs the other servers.

Since we have the “one big server concept” in pve I was wondering why we cant take such an approach for wvsw so everyone stands a fair chance, regardless their server. This system could basically work like any other pvp game with its own balancing system to ensure no side has too many players compared to the other. In case you want to play with specific players you could invite them to your side (as for the currect pve you can right click and join your group on a specific map)

Of course I noticed you can switch servers, which surprisingly would cost me almost 20 euro (way to go ANET……!!), but I highly doubt this is a long term solution.

(Apart from this not being a long term solution, personally I think charging 20 EUR for a simple switch is just a hit in the face for veterans who are looking to return to the game by buying HoT for 50 EUR and find themselves on a totally changed server. But again thats just my opinion)

What do you guys think?

Cheers and thanks for your input

I switched servers and payed the 20€, if WvW is important to you, you have to switch.
Why? Because a lot of servers who are active in WvW have their own TS3 and Community, their own Guilds who do raids for the Server at fixed times, so that the home map is never without people. This is mostly common on the Gold Tier Servers, but some smaller servers come close to this. They put a huge effort in this, and a lot of people worked pretty hard to get the server to the top. If you switch the system to a random map system, there would just be chaos, no one could organize a thing, because you will never know in wich state the map is.
BTW we have something like this, it is called Edge of the Mist.
