So I signed up to the HoT newsletter a while ago. I haven’t noticed any emails from that so once I got my beta portal, I signed up again. It told me that I’ve successfully subscribed, but I’m not really sure if it actually worked. Is there any confirmation e-mail for this, because I haven’t gotten one. If there isn’t, ANet may want to consider doing so.

I suppose my question is whether there’s a confirmation e-mail or not for the newsletter.

Did you get the April 28 email “Starting Today: Claim Your Spot in the Next Heart of Thorns Closed Beta?” If so, you’re subscribed.

There was a kerfluffle about this when the initial stress test beta said one needed to be subscribed, because as it turned out they didn’t actually send a confirmation email. Some people never got the invite email, they only learned they were invited because the beta slot showed up on their character creation screen. I did get the email but didn’t know about the extra slot until the forums mentioned it because I have 17 slots and don’t always look at the end of the list So keep an eye on that.

Do you mean I would’ve gotten it if I was already subscribed? If you mean I should get it on subscribing, I’m not sure what to do.

I would imagine while the beta portal drop thing is still going, we won’t hear anything about when the closed beta is actually scheduled for. If you’ve subscribed to the newsletter, you will get a notification with information. I was part of the first beta and received my email a day ahead of the actual beta test. I expect it’ll work the same with this second beta, which I’ll also be participating in. Patience!

If you subscribed before April 28, using a valid email that you check, and have guildwars2@ncsoft.com on your “this is never spam list,” and the April 28 email is not in your main or spam folder, then you may wish to contact Support. (That is the email address from which my Apr 28 email originated).
