Elite spec today?
Druid is a dedicated healer. Does no damage, just heals. Also buffs party regen and health with spirits.
Forge is a dedicated tank. Does little damage, but all skills have taunt. Also debuffs enemies for team.

I agree it will be a tank, but on another way you are saying. I think it will deal moderate power damage and will have tons of protection and aegis. It would be fantastic if the new class mechanic would be do generate a force shield by using your toolbelt skills. :O
I guess everyone sees I’m completely team forge.
Engineers were always the class which got information about changes as the last. Just recognize the whole specialization changes. All professions got a video with pictures of the new system and traits. What did engineer get? A powerpoint presentation with lots of tbd. Really hope anet is showing that they actually know what to do with engineer.
They will not have a class strictly dedicated to heals. Druid will have CCs, and nature-related condis for utilities as well.

Druids get aspects and glyphs. The only other profession with glyphs is the elementalist and elementalist glyph abilities change based on attunement, so maybe the Aspects will work like attunements, providing the druid with new abilities.
One way to think about it, is for aspects to replace pets, or when you choose druid, your pet will “turn” into an aspect, providing you extra abilities based on the pet. This would make sense because having to deal with both pet swapping and aspect swapping at the same time might be too confusing and complicated.
Actually, if I were designing “Glyphs for Rangers” I’d make the benefit depend on what family of pet you have out. An avians effect, a canines effect, etc. Pet family is basically attunement for Rangers.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Pls make it happen. I want to see the forums burn
Five weeks to release and one more beta weekend event to go. I have absolutely zero faith at this point that Druid and Forge will be in good shape on release day. In any event, my bet is on Engineer being last.

Well, I don’t think Glyph need “attunment”. In a way, this is just an inscription that you cast and have an effect. I think it’s better not to be fooled by how it work on the elementalist which is a totally different profession.
As for “aspect”, this is just a guess but I think it will be a kind of pet that are specific to the druid (the druid losing access to the current ranger’s pet). This way :
- We get new pets (Yeah!!!), we get new pet skills.
- Swaping aspect proc pet swaps effect (Yeah!!!).
- Aspect can do things that current pets can’t (like passively granting a buff around him).
- We could finally be free of these sorry skills that we can’t control and hurt our gameplay.
- Anet dodge the necessary rework of the pet UI.
…
This seem to work so well, that I have a feeling that we will end up with this.

As a fan of Vivaldi, I personally hope that the Aspects will be the Four Seasons, with different team support abilities: (Spring -> healing/defensive support) (Winter -> CC/utility support) and Summer/Fall for different kinds of offensive support abilities.
In addition, it will be more exciting if Staff skills, rumor says they are about plants, can reflect the appearance of plants in different seasons and have different skill effects as well, for instance, Winter Staff #4 applies chill while Summer Staff #4 applies burning (though I doubt they will implement 20 skills for Staff instead of just 5).

Well, in this game “acts differently depending on what attunement you are in” is what defines glyphs. Otherwise they’d be indistinguishable from shouts.

Other than the tiny detail that we’ve already seen a druid accompanied by a standard pet. Hopefully we’ll both know by the end of the week.

Boom
and ha, Druid is last.

Just saw the tweet! ARGHHHH YEAHHH!!!
Well, that staff is very very Engineery. Those drones look elegant. But I think the artist might have stretched things with how the helm looks on Charr.

Glad to hear that they’re forging ahead with the Elite Spec releases…
This will be next Week I guess
Well, in this game “acts differently depending on what attunement you are in” is what defines glyphs. Otherwise they’d be indistinguishable from shouts.
Defined like that, this restrain a lot the profession that could have access to glyph. There would be :
- Necromancer (Glyph while in Shroud, lot’s of peeps would love it)
- Maybe warrior since it’s adrenaline bar could allow him some “temporary attunment swap” a la berzerker.
And that’s all folks… Definitely this definition is way to restrictive.
Other than the tiny detail that we’ve already seen a druid accompanied by a standard pet. Hopefully we’ll both know by the end of the week.
Never said that these “aspect” couldn’t look like scurrent pets (Yeah, I’m dodging here)

Anet: We have a class called rangers in this game?? Since when.
Anet: We have a class called rangers in this game?? Since when.
To be fair: engineer always were the last getting any reveals. It is nice to see it isn’t happening again. And it makes sense to let druid be the last, it is the elite spec which fits the theme of the exp heart of thorns the most.

I don’t know what you’re on about. They clearly saved the best class reveal for last. Forge.
This is the last week for the hype train. It’s on the way back to the station
ha, Druid is last.
Well let’s face it Rangers are at the bottom of the pile for literally everything in game so this doesn’t come as a surprise :P and at this point it’s too naive to suggest they’re ‘saving the best till last’ since how can ‘the best elite’ be one that’s built upon the most broken profession?
1 BWE to test and less time than all other professions to get feedback to Anet. It’s GW2 Ranger all over again. Here’s to re-rolling a shiro/glint revenant main

If Engineer ever get Staff for Elite Specialization it better be for a Technomancer Elite Specialization.
Probably it’s more like : “Druid still not ready”
Probably it’s more like : “Druid still not ready”
At this point that’s my best guess :’)
The 3 year history of the GW2 Ranger would back that up too.

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed that, did that charr seriously cut off his snout just to wear that mask?
Really hoping Forge turns out good. Its the only elite spec left that I was looking forward to. Been really disappointed with the other two (ele and guard), hopefully third and last is better.
Please give us a keyring…

Wouldn’t be the first headgear in GW2 that looks like it needs it

prepared that one aswell in case the reveal is pleasing

Funny stuff.
Here is what I datamined so far:
Forge helm has 400 toughness.
Forge can turn nearby Rangers into Druids to use as their drone pets.
Good stuff so far, I will continue my data minecrafting.
The moderators are merging without reading again, prepare yourselves for the completely nonsensical mono-thread of confusion and broken conversations.
Mods… you just merged a thread speculating WHAT the spec would be, HOURS before it was revealed, with one discussing WHAT was revealed AFTER the fact.
Can we start reading threads before taking moderator action please? Especially since I know you can’t unmerge the threads because I’ve had this conversation with you guys the last FIVE THOUSAND times you’ve done this!

Don’t know why this is a surprise, we know the order which they were to be released. Except one…
so shiny..so chrome…
This. I wanted the druid until I read your comment. You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome. What a lovely day!

kitten you funny posters. Now I want Forge to have a shout skill named “WITNEEES!!!!!”

I would buy a character slot and level a fresh engi up to 80 for That. One. Skill.
The next Engi E-spec NEEDS to be land-spear/shouts.

So when exactly is the announcements usually ? Tuesday ? Wednesday ?
Thursday and POI on friday. (though, there usually are some leaked intel on wednesday from online press)
The blog is typically on Thursday, though sometimes much more detailed info arrives on Wednesday in a third party article which alert people then link in these forums.
Where is the thread on Forge Teaser today? Wasnt for Reddit post, many would never known.
Also note that Anet saved Engie and Ranger for last, both happen to been the first Elite Specialization shown in actual gameplay footage unlike other Elite Specialization. Druid is the last, and happen to been the first Elite Specialization we knew by name as well as had a video of it in action.

This means nothing, because we saw the chronomancer in the trailer too and it was the first elite spec which were getting revealed.
Is there a larger / HD version of that picture floating around? I need a new background, been using the Herald art for too long now.

Oh yeah true. Forgot about that.
Rumor has it that the same designer who brought us the Mordem Invasion is also in charge of the Dro0d and Forge…taboutit.
Forge this week
Ranger next week
Beta the following week (tough call if it be ranger week and starts before a PoI about druid/PoI done earlier – or if it be the weekend of the 2nd-4th)
Personally I hope they do beta on ranger week else they will have under 3weeks to get their fixes sorted after it. Also give them time to do an extra focused BWE if they not quite sure on the balance and want the forge/Druid to get an extra run out to test the changes they make.
Anet already showing they need 3 BWEs to balance classes that will see more than one. This is going to be an absolute cluster…
Hmm, why is his face so flat?
