End of Story Discussions - Spoiler
Well I liked the fight when it was working until about 50% when the boss bugged out. So far I’ve had to abandon this story mission twice due to the bosses glitching out and doing things they’re not supposed to. I’m waiting until the bugs get addressed before I make another attempt, but from what I saw in the fight I did like. Yes definitely not very dragon like, but I feel the fight is more involved and more fun than zhaitan.
You fight the physical dragon in dragon’s stand as part of the meta event. It is a pretty epic fight.

You people are telling me that you finished the whole kitten story in just 3 days?
Ugh
I was really disappointed with the mordremoth fight. I was saying to myself the whole way through ‘surely this can’t be the last boss’ and when it turned out it was, I just didn’t know what to think.
Of all the things an elder dragon could be I only wanted Mordy to be one thing: massive. It looked more like a random mordrem in the open world than an elder dragon… Hugely disappointing. There was also no sense of closure to the story, it was more like ‘the dragon is dead, that’s the end of it’, there was no instance after where you saw the aftermath and everyone’s reactions.
Stepping away from the negatives, the fight itself was very well designed and had a good feel of importance to it and although mordremoth was a huge HP sponge, it was challenging with a few different phases. Gameplay-wise I liked it a lot.

I’m really disappointed on the story.
First thing: the quality of this story is very good.
BUT: story in guild wars 2 : 50 instances.
HOT: 16 instances ?
For me, isn’t an expansion, it’s a DLC of living world.
A dragon? It’s really a dragon ? No sorry, it was just an illusion… not a dragon.
Anyway, the fight itself was good, but isn’t a dragon. (heart of artichoke)
epilogue where?
but the fight was great and I loved mords design a tiny dragon with a napoleon complex power over the mind and an entire jungle for a body extension; that’s really cool.
also my other problem was how it felt kinda rushed in the beginning of the last mission “all dragons have a weakness!” what’s mords? his mind and Trahearne can help because reasons.
now if we had asked Trahearne about mords weakness and he said he could help since he’s so close to mordy it would make better narrative sense imho.
I really liked the dragon fight, once you knew how to do it, but i am so disappointed by the ending. One of the most important people of Tyria dies, who is also sort of your mentor, and there is no single way to get closure. You don’t get a cutscene for mourning, none of your allies even mention it, the pale tree just kindly greets you. i felt like I couldn’t really continue with the game for a bit because you get no actual ending and it just keeps hanging in your mind.
I have to congratulate them on the instances though, they were really fun to play through and i always looked forward to the next one. They kept me enslaved to my pc for three days.
I assume it won`t get any better..but, what you guys think about Glint`s egg? Some assumed Mordremoth corrupted it. Maybe a new dragon will come ? haha..kitten all these dragons.
Don’t think so. I think it was the ley line energy of Mordremoth’s corpse being let out, and being absorbed by the egg. Maybe it archived the memories of what happened at the final battle with mordremoth. Or prepared it for hatching.
Mixed feelings.
The story was executed well, I liked it a lot. It could feel rushed at times, but given the explanation from a red poster that they tried to create a sense of urgency, I’ll buy it.
The idea of Mordremoth being the whole jungle itself—actually that big—is very cool to imagine. But of course, having a creatures that large will complicate things if you want to show it in the game, and I was pretty much ready for it that we wouldn’t actually see Mordremoth himself in that sense.
The last story step was fun to do, with things to do in the fight.
There is of course the map event in Dragon’s Stand map, where you fight a Mouth of Mordremoth, and that thing is huge, like a very huge serpent that kind of looks like that shadow of Modremoth in the story instance.
But I agree that I would have liked a somewhat more closure on the ending. Is Logan okay? Zojja? Nothing about the Pale Tree?
The fight was a good fight when considered separately from the plot. The overall instance was very disappointing though. It wasn’t an epic conclusion at all. It’s an exact reverse of the Zhaitan situation, where the fight was kittened but the atmosphere was incredible. Also, apparently Zhaitan’s “weakness” is fairy dust? It would be nice to preserve some continuity and elaborate on that.
Also, the ending itself was super sudden and rushed. There was no closure for anyone, and it just abruptly ended. Like, gratz you win, here’s a 5 second cutscene and you’re back at the entrance of the zone. What happened to Logan and Zojja? What were everyone’s thoughts of killing Mordremoth? Trahearne? Glints egg? Anything? We should have really had some sort of cooldown instance like with Zhaitan.

Would have been in 24 without the mastery gating. Play how you want, not how some condescending forum poster thinks you should.
