The Elite Spec. would be called Nano Agents, yes as the name implies, they would specialize in Nano Tech.
Personally I think Engineers have too many range option already. They lack a pure melee kit or weapons, yes I know that Power Wrench, Flame and Bomb kits are considered the Engineers’ melee options. With that being said, I think that Engineers should get Scepters as the new weapon / elite specialization.
Traits – Keep in mind this is a purely Melee specialization but does not make the Engineer into an agile acrobatic type as the Thief currently is. It would transform the Engineer into a type of Cyborg / Melee Warrior.
-Minors
-25 or 33% increased movement speed
-Some kind of Defiance mechanic
-10% increase damage with Nano attacks
-Adept traits, going with the 3 different trees you get to choose from and also the further choice of choosing 1 out of 3 different traits in the Adept, Master and Grand Master Trinity lol. You can choose to go either Electrical (support / cc), Fire, let’s call it Atomic sounds more Nana haha (burst / since Engineers don’t have enough fields already, Fire Field), and Microbes (sustain / regeneration). Trait choices are broken down top to bottom as Electrical, Atomic and Microbes.
-x% on critical hit conducts a lightning hit similar to the Elementals Electrical Discharge but being a purely melee specialization the lightning is conducted from ground. So is not considered a range attack and won’t be reflected but still can be retaliated. It can also hit in a radius 180 degrees two more targets or being a support Nano, it can apply swiftness to you and 2 others. I let the developers decide on that.
-25-30% on critical hit detonate the Nano Bots causing exploding damage and burns.
-100% chance on critical hit with Nano Bite apply poison.
-Master
-x% chance on hit apply 0.5-1 sec. Stun and x sec. Cripple.
-100% on critical hit with Spark Hit create a fire field or smoke cloud.
-100% on critical hit with Spark Hit does 2% heal to you and 2 of your teammates in a 180 degree radius.
-Grandmaster
-50% chance on hit increases either the #1 auto attack chain only or all of the scepter weapon skills (I’ll let the percentage and numbers expert figure that out) by 0.75 sec. and reduces skill recharge by 0.25 sec per hit. Again I don’t know the exact mechanics and numbers on this, just my opinion.
-Radiate – x% on hit does 2x damage and applies 5 stacks of burn.
-x% chance on hit cause 1.5x damage, applies chill and applies 10 to 15 stacks of bleeds.
5 weapon bar skills where the Scepters / Cow Prods / Shock Sticks / Bomb Stick / Fire Crackers you get the idea.
-#1 Charge Hit, as it says, landing a hit would give you scepter a charge.
Spark Hit, would essentially “start up” your scepter as if it was a blow torch and inject your Nano Bots into the target.
Nano Bite, would discharge the bots that was injected by Spark Hit and depending on what types of Nanos you’ve trait into.
Well this is what I’ve come up with so far. The Scepter can be a ranged weapon if it is chosen for the Warrior, seeing that the Warrior currently only has two Ranged weapons. One of which, the LB is a bit slow for my play style, just my opinion. Feel free to add to this post if you like, keep it positive please. Thank You.
OK… well then replace the scepter with a pistol and give it to the Warrior as a Main hand and call them Commandos with a set of medium range bombs.
Those Nano traits and the #1 auto attacks can still work, actually would probably be great for the hammer play, especially if it is going to be a melee weapon.
