Equipment with boon duration stats incoming?

We’ve just had a blog stating that the stats which are currently associated with traits will be moved onto equipment. One has to wonder what will happen to the 30% boon duration bonus which can only be gained by fully speccing into one of our current trait lines?
I’d assume (based on that) that we will see armor stat combinations which include “boon duration”?

i’d guess we’ll automatically get some base boon/condi duration (10-15%) and then have the last 15-20% be on gear (most likely new stat combos or just added to giver gear.
It already exists (Giver’s). Its just inexplicably terrible.

chances are it will be added onto cele anyway since thats supposed to be all stats gear. better start saving up your quartz.

During the specialization live stream on Friday they tried to answer this question on boon duration lost with the trait system, and from what I remember they seemed very vague on this. Either they do not know right now or they will do away with it totally and replace all duration with extra stacks (intensity) only.
They hinted they are doing this for conditions such as burn, poison and I think confusion duration, so maybe boons too. The stability change may have been a dry run for all boons, though it would a little more difficult for boons such as swiftness and quickness etc., but not impossible. They did mention super speed for one of the Mes traits for glamour fields, so in that context maybe you can upgrade your run speed with extra stacks?

Thanks Vague Memory, for giving that vague account on what the Devs vaguely mentioned ^^
I’d assume the cleanest solution would be to only allow specific armor pieces to have boon duration – so that fully speccing into armor which gave +boon would result in about 40% boon duration. For instance only rings (or chest and helm) would have +boon combos, allowing people to more easily figure out how to achieve their old builds.

Boon duration is powerful in traits but it’s not worth more than a real stat on your gear.

they were vague on anything regarding condi/boon changes but based on what they said, boon duration will be handled in one of two ways.
1. The same as any other stat; ie. bigger numbers on gear.
2. The same as class specific mechanics. Half of the percentage boost will be made baseline for classes that have boon duration options in traits and the other half will be added if you choose that line as a core specialisation.
