Hello there!
I played some female human Daredevil and Revenant this weekend and I have to say I dislike some animations.

a) Impaling Lotus animation is just awful. Character spins way too slow and in a strange pose (I don’t know why she leans while spinning?). The previous animation looked better if you ask me.
b) Staff wielding animation on daredevil feels just off. It’s like she was carrying something extremely heavy, not a staff (i believe it’s just hammer animation, which doesn’t fit at all). Same applies for Revenant.
c) Daredevil staff skill one (first skill of the chain) looks dumb, again like if she was fighting some kind of heavy weapon, not a ninja-style staff. Same for Revenant, although it is slightly less offensive on heavy armor class.

I enjoyed all of the rest beta stuff, keep up with the good work!

Daredevil staff animations need work, I agree. They looked somewhat static an inelegant.

I have to agree the Daredevil’s staff animations are pretty poor, even the new dodges. The animations are very sudden and jarring, and don’t give you a good feel for where your character is at any given moment. The weapon skills don’t look like they’re being used by somebody who knows how to use the weapon.

This beta weekend I tried out the Scrapper and while it was very fun, I noticed some animation problems as well.

Hammer 2 Electrowhirl – This animation blends poorly with the running animation while moving, resulting in 2 awkward half-spins rather than one full spin.
Hammer 4 Shock Shield – The visible shield only lasts half as long as the skill does which I think is going to throw people off, especially in PvP.

Also being a charr jumping while holding a hammer and moving forward looks rather awkward, though that’s nothing new.

One additional note about Hammer 3 Rocket Charge – I was under the impression from the reveal that this skill would be an evade as well, but the evade only seems to cover the first leap, if that. The unpredictable nature of the movement of this skill makes it extremely difficult to use around enemies with AOE and knockback attacks.

All dodge animations on daredevil are “stubs”, they put those in because they didn’t have enough time to redo the animations for this BWE.
However if they do have time they really should change fist flurry to something more appropriate for a fast sequence of punches like this or this. Fist flurry currently does not fit a somewhat skilled martial artist fast punch.
