Fight with Mordremoth Ideas
As much as I am sure the majority of people will prefer you idea to fighting aboard an airship with cannons, I do hope for a similar style fight to zhaitan, albeit with more difficulty and mechanics. To me it just doesn’t make sense for one player (or a small group) to be able to kill something 10x the size of tequatl (hopefully even bigger than that) with ordinary weapons. An airship fight will make me a lot happier than a normal fight, even more so if Anet can find a way to make it very challenging and interesting at the same time.

I actually agree there. Although the Zhaitan fight wasn’t good mechanically, the look and feel of the entire battle was amazing.
There wont be any fight with Mordy. “Heart of thorns” man…heart..
We will kill him from inside, probably facing many of his champions or even avatar of mordy himself there. After all theres a reason why textures in triple wurm or breach are so detailed, they woulndt create new textures just for 2 small spaces.

That could actually work. If the pact (and their new allies) battle Mordremoth from the outside, while you and DE 2.0 battle Modremoth from within.
We don’t kill it.
We fight as best as we can throwing everything we have but it’s futile. We have our backs to the wall with Mordremoth about to eat us then along comes Primordious to consume the jungle dragon. Setting alight Mordremoths vines and everything else plant related whilst holding the dragon in place with the earth and it’s giant claw around the enemy’s neck.
No idea what the extend of the dragons abilities are. O_o
Inadvertently saving us of course. This kitten is just hungry for magic or something.
Us seeing these two dragons battling just try and get the heck out of there asap as there is no way we can fight two.
Primordus annihilates Mordremoth proving he is the superior dragon and threat to Tyria.
Then all hope is gone that we will ever win against the dragons as we threw everything we had at Mordremoth, we were defeated and then Primodus came along and raeped Mordy.
Then through some revelation somewhere down the line we find out the gods have had their powers drained by the dragons the whole time as they are FULL of magic! Great food source brah! This is why they are seemingly gone from Tyria.
They come to us, the gods, and close to being destroyed by the siphoning of magic by the dragons, they give the rest of their minuscule amount of power remaining to the races of Tyria to power us up a bit so we can better fight the remaining dragons and their minions. (New abilities yay!)
The gods die then and there, a sacrifice to destroy their enemies. The dragons.
But a sacrifice that brings hope to the world.
Okay I’ll stop…Getting carried away.

And now someone in the headquarter of Anet is like: “Thank you for spoiling our – meant to be – surprising plot twist. Now we need to rewrite everything we’ve come up so far for the story. Release date gets pushed back for about three months.”
and Rox doing the Druid nature magic (vines and such) to keep him firmly on the ground.
Rox is not going to be druid. it just doesn’t work for her.
Eir, perhaps. I can see that working, but not rox.

Me too. It just kinda felt as though there was that last section missing, the part after we cut off Zhaitan’s wing and tail and collapsed a tower on top of him. We could easily have faced Zhaitan on foot once he’d been cut down (very literally) to a more manageable size and delivered the death blow.
Possibly we could follow a similar approach with Mordy. If Mordy is a composite Elder Dragon like Zhaitan, then it would be easy to break the fight into several phases, starting with cannons and ending with a more personal fight.

If I recall, they sent an internal memo around and everyone got to vote on which name they liked the most. Heart of Thorns was likely chosen because it sounded cool.

I’d love some Elder Dragon vs Elder Dragon. Mind you mostly just because I’d love to be able to face more than one ED at a time.
Lore wise since we killed an ED we’ve already broken the system, so any number of things could happen that would otherwise be abnormal.

Oh ANet has been pretty good when it comes to these sorts of things. ANet doesn’t seem to mind players accurately guessing where the story is going.

Eir, perhaps. I can see that working, but not rox.
And I doubt Majory is going to become a reaper and Kasmeer a chronomancer (as neither works very well with the present characterizations). Of course characters do change, that’s part of storytelling.
Braham however is looking very likely as a possible Dragonhunter.

You’re joking, right? Marjory was our first glimpse into the Reaper’s new weapon (Greatsword), and Kasmeer throws down time warps like it ain’t no thang. They both fit Reaper and Chronomancer in how they fight
As for Braham, I can see him inheriting Eir’s bow (we saw Eir get blown up in the end-of-living-story trailer thing, whether she dies or not is another matter).
Taimi is obviously the engineer, but we don’t know enough about their elite spec. yet other than that drones are involved (might make sense for her getting drones to assist her on a day to day basis instead of Scruffy)
Rox is the only one I’m unsure about. She’s a gladium, so she’s outside the norm for a Charr (engineering, up front fighting, very devoid of magic), and her previous pet died, so it wouldn’t surprise me if she went into mysticism a la the Druid (or at least speculation of the Druid) to go further against those norms and get more in tune with Frostbite and nature.
This is all speculation, but I think the Living Story group is a good indicator of things to come in terms of the specializations of their classes
I guess it goes like this:
We don’t even know where mordi is exactly.
All we know is that his tendrils are grabbing onto the lay-lines, so in order to localize him, we discover ancient ruins, left from a civilization that utilized lay-line energy, meet these floaty golden thingies, get told how to enter the ley-line caves below the maguuma jungle and then come up with a method to backtrack his tendrils, cut him off from the ley-lines, therefore enrage him and force him out of his hiding spot.
Once he’s in the air, the [insert player-reunited airship fleet here] will bombard him again, forcing him back on the ground, where he
a) becomes a instanced worldboss (think tequatl / tower of nightmares), where players battle their way trough his minions towards his shattered body, fighting him until he’s dead, with some kind of mega-weapon as backup.
b) dies (basically they pull another zhaitan, and all we effectively have done was cutting his connection to his magical happy-meal)
c) is crippled and almost dead, so we can deliver him the killing blow in a story-instance (maybe some final minions to kill on our way towards him)
Or scratch all of the above.
Our new revenant NPC’s, led by rytlok will channel the colossus from the colossus fractal, order him to kill mordremoth, so we can have some evoks dancing around a fire, while X-wings release fireworks to celebrate that we pulled a giant-eagle-ring-drop onto Sauron.

Perhaps we get the cut fight with Zhaitan (Yes Zhaitan fight was supposed to move from skies to the ground level, after Zhaitan was shot down, there were even arena ready for it and “Zhaitan’s Rest” or what it was called where the dragon corpse would have remained), changed and implemented in Mordremoth fight.
But dunno about if we really can kill them, they could fall into hibernation after defeat to regenerate even the grievous wounds or something, but it’s not clarified as far as I know.
Well, I dunno about fight in the air, since Pact Fleet was torn down by burst of tendrils and corrupt sylvari.
And this could be intepreted as “It’s somewhere, connected to the jungle, since it reacted that aggressively on blind barrage of cannont fire”, giving more to the “Heart of Thorns” idea by skowcia.8257 (although it’s possible that wounding it’s heart might force it out of hiding, creating possibility for air battle)
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
