That Dragon’s Stand event is amazing. Its pretty tough currently to get people to work together but man the entire feel of the event is on point. It really feels like you are marching like an army into this hostile territory and struggling to keep your footholds whiling pushing forward. The side events add some nice flavor like becoming an exalted in the northern path or getting wyverns to help you in the middle path. The toughest part atm is just coordinating the blighted towers but I feel this will become trivial once people get more comfortable with the mechanics of the fight. The most epic part is that Mordremoth is great! Flying around while trying to damage this huge dragon as he eats the very ground beneath you to destroy the map. Man the personal story fight may be iffy but this one is flat out amazing. This entire chain is what Orr and Zhaitan was supposed to be like.

My only disappointment is that the loot was not all that great but perhaps they had already adjusted for the fact groups would be able to regularly beat the event once people understand what is going on.

Were you also part of the PUG group that just did it? Totally agree, the fight with the Mouth is absolutely amazing. I had a minor freak out when he tore off a piece of my island with me on it! I thought the Wyvern Patriarch fight was a blast, but defeating this thing was probably the single greatest moment I’ve had in this game.

I don’t think the rewards need to be any better. If you think about it, the rewards are more evenly displaced across the entire meta, so if you participate in the whole thing, you’ll get a bunch of champion bags.

Although I have not got past the blighting towers yet (did it for the first time yesterday) I agree it was absolutely amazing. I think that Anet have made a fantastic decision to add more multiple-lane fights like marionette. That style of battle is the best thing I have done in gw2 so far. I went to this zone after I finished the story (which I will not spoil here) and although I was pretty disappointed by it, this zone completely changed how I was feeling about HoT at that time.
Looking forward to playing it a lot in future and hopefully reaching the end boss soon.
