So this has been a problem for a while, and was a big problem during the modrem invasion events pre-HoT, and it’s something I feel should have been fixed a long time ago.

Rewards that are tied to map progression/map participation are completely lost when you leave the map (often due to a disconnection) and do not rejoin the same instance of the map. For example, when you wait for 30 minutes to secure a full tequatl map and DC in the last 2 minutes and end up on an empty map, you gain nothing for the hour of your time that you spent contributing to the event. The only way around it is to join a party of people on the same instance, and try to join back on them when you reconect to the game, praying that the map didn’t become full in the time you were gone (something that happens to me alot), so it’s hardly a solution, more of a chance to not get completely screwed by something out of your control due to a flaw in the game’s design.

Now, as I said before this isn’t a new problem, but it’s something that becomes much more of a problem when you’re spending your time doing events on 4 maps that each have a map tied progression mechanic that causes you to lose out on alot of rewards if you DC and join a separate map. It’s not fun to spend an hour running multiple meta event chains only to DC 1 event before you max out tier 3 with 200% participation, causing you to miss out on the tier 3 chest aswell as the bonus chest, the 2 most important chests of the map.

I feel there should be some way to keep your character stored on the last map your were on for 2-3 minutes after you leave the map, so as to reserve your slot on said map, preventing this from being an issue. I can’t see that having any affect on the client, and the effect on the server should be barely noticable, seeing as all it will do is keep the map population exactly the same and not increase it in any way for a couple of minutes. That or at least have the server store your personal reward/event participation, even if you don’t get the map wide reward at the end, so you at the very least keep your participation %.

Is this something that could at least be looked into? I can’t imagine it being the hardest thing to fix, and it’s a pretty frustrating problem for a number of people, due to the relitive commoness of DCs during large events and I’d imagine not everyone knowing about the anti-DC party, the anti-DC party not working(due to the whole party disconnecting or the map filling up) or simply not being able to find one causing even the “solution” to not be effective 100%. I can only imagine this becomming more and more of an issue as you seem to be moving more and more to map tied rewards (which i think is a great way to do things, just could use this being fixed) in future content and expansions.
