Ive tried this achievement at least 20 times at this point… I get to the third phase and get hit EVERY time…. why is this such a pain?!

I know what most of yall will say and just cheese it, get someone to do it and I die before the flight phase…id love to do that, but unfortunately I cant find people to let me chill out while they kill a dragon.
I heard there was something about a branch but Ive never landed on it dispite trying many of times.

Any useful advice? I fly as far away from him as I can to avoid the rocks, but I gatta stay semi-close so I can still hit updrafts, etc… its a catch 22, gatta be close and far, and stay in the air while avoiding so much stuff in the air… its the last achivement I need for HoT story too >.<

However, I just did H&M with a friend last night. I’d swear nothing ever hit me, and I used the branch for two of the three air phases, and still did not get the achieve. I’m going to have to resort to going with a group that lets me deliberately die before the rocks fly so I can sit in the peanut gallery safe from rocks.

Thats what im going to have to do shame there isnt a retry option for the fight ((or is there?))

I know where the branch is, I used it in about 5 attempts. In only 1 of those 5 attempts was I hit by a rock (even though he isn’t even supposed to be able to target you up there), in the other ones I was hit by nothing. But I never got the achievement either. I feel like that was patched.

And its such an annoying achievement to go after as well.

I’ve seen others say the branch does indeed disqualify you from the achieve.

My Migraine PUG was nice enough to re-run the mission and let me cheese FoF.

I got mine using the branch…but it was quite some time ago. No idea of that’s changed or not.

I keep trying to die durring a group but they keep reviving me lol

You have to tell the group not to revive you. The problem is the npcs also rez you … one time I was trying to die on my reaper because I was there to help a friend who’d gotten stuck in the peanut gallery and he was the one who had to do the finishing move.

Between auto shroud and the npcs and being tossed back up into the npcs’ loving embrace if I jumped off the platform, I simply could not die for a very long time.

My plan is to go in on a squishier profession and deliberately nose dive into the pain after one short glide in the first air phase. After warning my group mates I’m doing it on purpose, of course.
