after finding out the expansion is $50, Im considering just getting the expansion from Best Buy. GCU membership would drop it down to $40, which isnt bad savings.

For those who do not know: Best Buy offers a service called Gamers Club Unlucked(GCU) which discounts any new games by 20% when purchased from their site or store.

ANet should be offering physical copies of HoT before it releases, and I plan on picking it up at a discounted price. if not, best buy does also offer digital keys as well.

Not entirely certain, based on original launch physical pre-purchase might be happening, but based on the current wording in the FAQ physical editions will be available for release, but not necessarily before release.

Standard and Deluxe editions should be available from BestBuy starting June 23rd, according to the FAQ.

Ultimate is only available from ArenaNet.
(Deluxe would be $60 with GCU… Ultimate gives you $50 in Gems.)

If you don’t plan on buying any Gems (or, at least, less than $40 worth), going with GCU seems like a good strategy.
