I’m just an average player, with average playing time if any of that matters but I’ve been noticing a ’’trend’’ so to speak. While GW2 HoT sparks this thread, it’s not only GW2 that does this, but other games as well. However the focus here will be HoT’s Dragon Stand.
Now I’ve heard of several zergs beating this event chain but so far all zergs I have joined have not been successful. So my perspective is going to be a bit different. Usually what happens is the map chat degrades into an argument or debate, or just a down right brawl. This creates enemies amongst the community and people just leave.
I don’t know if it’s due to the difficulty of the content, or if developers are expecting too much from us players. But one thing is for sure, expecting teamwork and coordination from hundreds of random players to complete certain events in specific time frames is nigh impossible. Do-able yes, but nigh impossible. I don’t mind if some things require some strategy, but when things get too ‘’team work’’ heavy, it puts me off.
