From hero to zero
This is the main reason I do not really worry about participating in these huge events. The few times I did get disconnected and it happened, I decided not to worry about getting involved until Anet fixed this problem.
If you get disconnected the game should at the very least, remember your participation % and reserve your spot in the map you were in so you can get back in where you were to finish it.
But because it does not at present, I am waiting.
Has the 64bit client helped you avoid these disconnects at all Tekoria? How about reloging before joining to push off any memory leak issues if you’d been playing for a while before starting the event?
I’am using 64bit client and my game doesn’t crash, i just got random dc when map is busy.
Best thing to do now is to find a crash prevention party on map chat. There’re usually a few people that want that party. You dont need to interact with them. Just be in party to taxi back in in case of crash.

I wasn’t getting a ton of dcs myself but I know thats a big problem for a lot of people.
For many the 64bit client seems to have done a lot to, maybe not fix, but workaround whatever errors are crashing the client.
I still think they need some sort of reservation system.
They already have it in part, I accidentally waypointed out of VB with 150% participation, immediately WPd back expecting it to be gone, but managed to land on the same instance so I got my credit back.
So all they need is something to help you get back into your map shards when dropped.
Obviously it would need to be relatively short as otherwise a bunch of people leaving could simply screw the map with no way to bring in replacements.
So maybe have a maximum saved number of slots saved before it gives them up to new players

Yeah what NTDK says is right, join a party with other people, they probably won’t even talk to you. If you dc, right click on their name and join their instance after logging back in. This works 90% of the time, you should get your progress and instance back unless the map is full (I always did at least, before downloading the 64 bit client which solved my issues).
