Frustration with HOPE IV
Find a busy server and do stuff on that server? Prosper.
Part of the problem right how is probably timing since everyone and their brother are in the new zone, but that’ll end soon enough anyway.

The problem is that from experience, even a full server (which is very unlikely pre meta leading) is likely to be split between multiple lanes, and at least one of the events needs well over 20 people to scale to champion levels.

I’ve been there. I’ve done it multiple times. It happens. Sometimes in this game you have to grab the bull by the horns and make it happen.
It helps to have a guild. It helps to have a commander tag. It helps to help organize stuff. Like I say, I’ve done it.
If you’re not going to be more proactive, you’ll have to wait.
I’ve gone through 4 complete legendary journeys now, and while there are times when I’ve had to wait for an event to spawn and even more times when I’ve needed an event to fail (which someone then completes anyway), I’ve never had a crazy time getting anything done.
Take Lyssa for example. I don’t know what the timer on that meta chain is, but I made it a point to hop into Malchor’s Leap every time I started playing gw or swapped characters. While it took me over a week to get Lyssa done, my total wait time in game was probably no more than 5-10 minutes.
Now that’s possible because the Lyssa chain takes a while and is easy to spot. For some other events which get completed quickly and are on 20 min cooldown timers, you have to just wait and be patient. I like to read, so I’d just sit my character down somewhere and grab a good book while I waited for the event to spawn.
If your issue is events you can’t do by yourself that no one else seems interested in, use map chat and LFG. There’s an LFG panel dedicated to getting achievements, and most people will scratch your back if you scratch theirs. Offering to pay them with the LFG title might get people to join up with you faster. Most of the time though, if you ask for help with a champion, people will eventually show up.
HOPE IV was one of my favorite collections. You’ve come so far already, don’t get discouraged! HOPE really is worth it.
Just got my hope a few weeks ago and love it. Well worth the time and some frusteration. Really the only things I hated were finding an arrowhead (the one I needed turns out usually spawns right before or during the tarir invasion so that helped), vinewrath legendary ( felt like the invasion always started while I was finishing up the pre-events) and the legendary wizard in orr b/c I would just always miss him (after almost a week of trying to jump around getting different bosses finally I just camped orr and waited) The COE pre-event boss you have to fight to unlock coe was annoying too b/c we always had control of coe and took forever to get a map that didn’t.
Once you get the few hard ones though its really not that bad from there. Hang in there and good luck.
it is frustrating but with time and a couple waiting in area for meta/LFG searches you can get it heck i got most of it done fast but things like vinetooth and TD meta took 5 days to get done cause had to find a group that was not low dps or messed up the meta.
the mastery part after to get things to make prototype – HOPE i just got those done like week ago and i finished HOPE 4 a month ago.

Ugh, I’d forgotten the CoE idiocy too… thanks for bringing up represed memories! cries
I personally like that the legendary collections require you to do events/bosses that you would not normally think of trying. I had a lot of fun doing the Nevermore collection myself.
I’d suggest LFG for any HoT events or champs that you need, whether you lead yourself or jump into an event farm. Even if the champ/event is not usually done just ask in squad chat and people don’t usually mind. If anyone’s really struggling (and EU) feel free to whisp me if I’m online and I can help organise it.
As for core Tyria, if you can solo look for empty maps e.g. any map with a world boss will have dead maps as they spawn. If you can’t solo try LFG or shout in map chat that there’s a champ and people come running lol.
