So I am working on making a full set of ascended Minstrel’s gear, and I have to say….wtf lol. For each insignia, for each piece of armor, you have to make 3 Jeweled Damask Patches. Each patch requires 25 Fulgurite. That’s 75 Fulgurite per insignia, making it 450 Fulgurite for the set.

Fulgurite is made at a 1:1 ratio with 4 items, Obsidian Shards, Bottle of Airship Oil, Pile of Auric Dust, and Ley Line Spark. You need 1 of each of these to make 1 Fulgurite.

So you need
450 Obsidian Shards
450 Bottles of Airship Oil
450 Piles of Auric Dust
450 Ley Line Sparks

JUST to make the insignias for each piece of armor.

Now I am all for Ascended armor being hard to get, but this seems quite ridiculous. For anyone that doesn’t know how these currencies are obtained, they are only available from opening the map specific chests in VB AB and TD. ALSO you don’t even get one everytime you open an airship cargo, exalted chest, or chak crystal thing.

Is there an easier way to obtain fulgurite that I am missing?

I haven’t tried it, but can you just get an exotic Minstrel’s Insignia and use the Mystic Forge to change an existing Ascended armour piece into the new type? Because that seems like it would be a lot easier.

Seems like I did a good thing making ascended before the expansion…

I made my vipers armor that way, i just made a bunch of the vipers insignia’s then did the transmute, dont see why it wouldnt work for Minstrels

It’s not cheating. it’s designed since ascended are so much work and sink to obtain that they invented this in order to avoid player rage at any new changing meta stat combination

It is cheating whenever they specifically made Viper’s and Minstrel’s to require an extra component for some reason. This is obviously an oversight on their end.

Considering that the exotic versions also need extra components, i wouldnt call it cheating.

Its badly implemented though.

but they require extra leather now.

The costs are boomed up because everyone is crafting at once. Crafting exotic gear is cheap enough I’d recommend waiting it out for a while until the TP prices go back down a bit.

btw where’s my ascended jeweler crafting. I don’t have enough laurels for the multitude trinket varieties I need, and crafting exotic jewelry makes me sad.

Leather is cheap still, and easily obtainable. 450 fulgurite is a month or 2 of farming. Not NEARLY equivilent

Fulgurite is not buyable. It was for the first week but that was a bug and is not anymore.
