Let’s assume that ArenaNet will work on the next expansion after this one.

I’m expecting to see a LOT more content that what our current expansion is offering. The reason? They’ve laid the foundation for a lot of new content that can be easily expanded upon. So, if a next expansion would come, I’d expect…

- A lot more emphasis on new maps in PvE
- A lot more masteries to discover
- New weapons we can wield
- Fixing underwater content to be a lot more fun
- 2 specializations per profession
- More legendary weapons
- Introduction of Legendary armour and trinkets

I’m not saying our current expansion-to-come is light on content, but it seemingly does feel like it and I can’t blame the community. I think the main reason is the lack of new PvE maps. ArenaNet is definitely taking note of this all, I’m sure.

Anyway, what future specializations would you guys like?

Personally I’d love for the Elementalist to get a 5th attunement, something like “Cosmic” or “Mists”. Mists would be borderline Revenant, but what ever.

In a future expansion, I would love to see the Ritualist, Paragon and Dervish come back as specialisations – perhaps under different names.

I’d also like to see legendary dyes be introduced to crafting professions

Dyeable weapons (probably asking too much, but this would be huge for me)

Not really fussed on a new race, considering Anet said they don’t really bring anything new to the table (whereas new classes do), which is a good point. If I had to choose a particular new race though, I think skritt and tengu are too similar – we already have charr, which are also furry, so it would make sense to bring in something entirely new, like Kodan, Largos, or my favourite which I’d personally like to see in game, Margonites.

Underwater content revamped. New skills for underwater combat. Exotic, Ascended and Legendary stats for breathing apparatus/aquatic helms.

GW1 weapon and armor packs in the gemstore.

The option to keep (or unlock) legendary auras and effects even when said legendary is stowed. For example, the metallic effect on armor when you wield the Juggernaut. I want that even when Juggernaut is stowed.

A WvW and EOTM reward track (similar to how PvP reward tracks work). Because currently the rewards aren’t that great.

That’s all I can think of.

Actually this is a system like the masteries they can add with live updates and not just with expansions the elite specs that is.

I’d assume ridiculous glow, pulsating light shows, black hole darkness or hypnotic patterns running over the dyed parts. It would look horribly tacky, if you ask me.

Well, for example, if you wanted like a rainbow kind of dye, it could require the Gift of Colour (As 1 of the 4 components required), along with 3 other legendary components, which are obtained by gaining mass amounts of materials (like you would with a legendary weapon), and level 500 Chef.

More maps is a given. I’d say most people want that.
Fix/rework of underwater combat. Removing it entirely is just lazy.
WvW stuff, including better rewards (tracks?) map and bug fixes, commander controls/panel, too much to name for WvW really.
I like the idea of gw1 weapon/armour packs someone above mentioned. I would love to be able to get a hold of those. 15k plate, Luxon, kurz, vabbian, too many to name.
Pet and minion AI fix.
I know we’re getting guild halls but are we getting Gvg?
A new race would be nice, but not a top priority.

And my most desired feature; build and gear templates like in gw1.

i doubt we’ll be getting any more expac’s after this, and honestly the execution of the current one already is a colossal failure so i hope we won’t be getting any more of it, just small but frequent updates will be fine, hell i’d even pay for gems to unlock classes or races ect

Paragon is already in game, it’s called Guardian/Warrior, because they divided their skills up between the two. If you want a toon that throws a spear, who knows then? Ritualist still has a chance, but locked spirits in GW2 have not worked well to date, so they would need a bump. With the Rev coming, I would say there is zero chance for Derv now, who were linked to the human gods anyways. Not much credibility to a Sylvari Devish now is there?

Really dude? No expacs? So a new class will just make the existing maps new all over again?
They have to keep expanding the world…for better or worse.

?New ascended weapons/armour
?Something to give WvW a reason to play (ie; monthly objectives/events and not that joke Golem rush)

Really I’m happy if they leave the legendaries and ascended stuff and don’t talk about them there needs to be some mystery to the expansion and the fact that we ain’t getting all the new legendaries straight away makes it pointless to do blogs on every single one.

In a future expansion, I would love to see the Ritualist, Paragon and Dervish come back as specialisations – perhaps under different names.

I think the builds are kinda being parceled out among different professions so that the feel of various builds are there, but not necessarily under the same banner.

Ritualists are somewhat split between a variety of professions: turret engineers and Ventari revenants probably being the closest.

Paragons are split between various professions with support shouts – Guardian, Warrior, you can even make an argument for Tempest.

Dervish I think comes a little bit into Jalis and Mallyx revenants… while the Reaper strikes me as being a callback to lifestealing Grenth dervish builds.

Now, this doesn’t mean that I don’t think we can’t at some point have specialisations with those names (for the dervish in particular, I don’t think the former focus on the human gods is a barrier – it can just be said that dervishes were the first to discover what are now human racial skills (Avatar of Melandru, Reaper of Grenth) and the rest of the dervish line was actually no more tied to the gods than the monk skills were) – however, a lot of the things you can do with other professions and specialisations are at least quite reminiscent of builds from those professions.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Not sure what the associated weapon would be – we already have the scholarly staff, scepter, and focus – but I would LOVE having tome “weapon” kits on guardian! The aesthetic and flavor of it is brilliant.

Given how the warrior was given so many weapon options, I am most interested in seeing how the one weapon to an e-spec model works out. At some point the warrior is most likely to run out the quickest. So at what point do you add new weapon classes? E.g., great axe, polearm, etc.

They’ve laid the foundation for a lot of stuff in the past that they quickly turned around and left to rot. See this very recent write-up (backed up by quotes from Anet):

IMO, Anet won’t release more than one specialization per profession per expansion. The logic being that classes like warrior have a majority of the weapons unlocked. If they got 2 more specs/weps per expansion then eventually they would be the only one unable to get a complete new spec.

Sure, anet could introduce new weapons. But would they just be for the warrior?

Revenant is nothing Like Dervish. Revenant is actually based on the Ritualist.
Dervish is easily unique enough to be its own profession.

The argument that “it doesn’t make sense with non-humans” doesn’t hold up, as
Anet pretty much threw lore out the window with regards to professions.
Sylvari can be Necros and Engies, Norn can be Engies, Charr can be Guardians, etc.
So why does it matter?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they phased out racial skills at this point, tbh.
Professions come first anyway.

Not to mention the fact that Scythe was the only weapon type not to be brought over from GW1 (for some reason). That needs to be rectified.

I actually designed a concept of what the Dervish UI would look like, complete with an enchantment stacking/teardown profession mechanic. I’ll have to find that again…

I am really excited about HoT (exept the Tempest). So I am curious what next specializations and other things will offer.

Hoewer if there’s something I want to come later, it’s this:
- New playable race (I really want to play Tengu)
- New large parts of world to explore. Really want to see how Crystal desert, lands above Divinity’s Reach, Blood Legion Homelands, etc. looks like. Or how Cantha/Elona changed. (I am a type of person who wants to explore everything)
- New weapon types
- New elite specializations
- New great story (Like LS season 2 which was great)
- Better underwater combat
- New dungeons (Or reworked old dungeons)

I am just used to think far to the future. For that specializations I also really want to see Ele getting new attunement or something I posted here (down, if it’s till there).

I am lazy to write it over and over. So sorry for my English.

As far as specializations go, I could think up specializations for every class for days on end. There are some things I would find cool, however, as time progresses:

Something beyond ascended armor: Now I am NOT saying this as a “all our old armor is worthless now” type of thing. I think they should add a higher level of armor, but it should require the previous ascended armor as a crafting ingredient.
Example: Legendary armor crafting that requires ascended piece + whatever else.
By doing this, you’re allowing more progression to be had without taking away from the players who already ventured through crafting the armor.

More PvE content: most definitely

Alternate Advancement System: I’m hoping this gets addressed by the upcoming Mastery System, but if the level cap is going to remain at 80 (which I’m totally okay with) there’s got to be some form of progression otherwise because if there isn’t, things can quickly become stagnant.

More Quest-Oriented legendaries: Another thing I believe is supposed to be addressed in HoT, but I never liked that the legendaries were simply craftable items that you could really only obtain through RNG and gold-grinding. The idea of a quest-chain or personal-story chain that could take weeks to complete is much more appealing.

Permanent Super Adventure Box: Please oh please

Dual-Profession: I know this will never happen, but it would be really cool if it could.

That’s the gist of things off of the top of my head and these are obviously opinions :p

No, no, no! Given the complete and utter grindfest that Ascended armor already is, particularly in the case of Damask and for people with alts, the idea of a new armor level would likely send others and me into a massive rage.

Maybe after 3 years they could fix WvW and make it so small teams of people have a reason to join? Still waiting for it not to reward the zergfest that WvW is. I hear that may come in this expansion, if that’s the case… I’ll be content.
