Ok so we are about 7 days out from HoT release, I have seen absolutely nothing in the gaming stores. Does Anet a HoT advertising campaign planned . This game is worth more than a word of mouth release advertising campaign.

Anet doesn’t really do a lot of ‘real world’ marketing. Their marketing goes mostly via gaming websites, youtube, twitch and so on.

The hype is all around you

The world is changing. Gaming stores today focus on and specialize in consoles. Computer games rely on them less and less.

Instead Anet hosted Twitchcon this year and they’re moving into esports more heavily. That’s far more hype than you can get at a gaming store…just in more specialized places.

ANet has been to TwitchCon, PAX and a host of other conventions where gamers are. There are quite a few that just don’t go into brick and mortar game stores that much anymore.
