Hi, sorry to bother you guys but I am currently at a stand still in the progress of my legendary until i have a little more clarification on the new legendary crafting process for the Gen 2 legendaries (I.E. Nevermore Staff),

My issue is i have enough spirit shards for 1 bloodstone shard at the moment, i was in process of crafting The Ministrel but i would rather save that bloodstone shard for the new Legendary rather then use it now for the Regular Gift of Mastery and use it Towards the Maguuma Gift of Mastery,

However me and my friend and quite a few players are in a arguement (also a few gaming sites of conflicting opinions on this as well) seeing as how the post about the new legendaries wasnt very clear with wording “The Gift of Mastery has always been a reward for playing the game a lot and seeing the world. The Gift of Maguuma Mastery is no different—but with the exception of the required Bloodstone Shard, the ingredients are all about playing in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns.”

So the question is does the new Gift of Maguuma Mastery use Bloodstone shards or not? Much appreciated if you could clear this up for us Thank you in advance,

I am under the impression that what that sentence is saying is that the only common material between the first gen gift and the second gen gift will be the bloodstone shard. The other 3 items come specifically from HoT play – maguuma map completion item, mastery items, and maguuma map currencies. That’s how I understood it. “With the exception of this one item, all of the rest of the items come specifically from HoT”

We’ll know for certain soon enough I suppose.

Yea that is how I interpreted it as well Lanfear, just others see it the opposite which has me wondering

It uses the Bloodstone Shard as stated in the blogpost (it’s clear to me).

Just hold on to the spirit shards until you actually need to use them. There’s no point in collecting ingredients before you know what the whole recipe is.

I read the description as Gift of Maguuma WILL require Bloodstone Shard, thats just my interpretation but I would say it was clear to me.

If you’re unsure just keep the Spirit Shards.
