Getting maguuma masteries
I believe Dulfy has a guide.
Good luck.

Maybe for exploration and achievements…
Assuming you’ve completed the story, Dragon’s Stand meta event is a great exp farm if you get an organized map. But since most of the vendor masteries are lower tier, you can probably get them with exploration or other map meta events. Be sure to grab exp boosters from laurel vendor.
I can’t find a Dulfy Guide on obtaining Mastery Points. Googling “GW2 Mastery Points” brings up this forum and the GW2 Wiki. Another thread on this forum asks about Mastery Points, but every response is about XP instead of Mastery Points. As far as I can tell, XPs do not generate Mastery Points.
I have gathered all the available (as far as I know) Mastery Points from all 4 HoT zones, and have spent 3 days on 4 characters grinding HoT events (including the metas), world bosses, map completions, Personal Story completions and Mordremoth kills without gaining any Mastery points. I am stuck at 11, and need 12 to master my fully-trained and ready-to-master Ley Line Gliding.
Does anyone know how I can earn more Mastery points? Thanks.

Look at your Hero panel under Achievements, then HoT. Look at the 4 maps and achieves that have the point associated with them. Then do those. There are also some doing LS achieves.
Edit: You’ll find alot hidden behind the Adventures.

There seems to be confusion…
OP, are you asking about farming exp to fill masteries or points to actually train masteries? If its the latter, then finish story, explore maps finish adventures and achievements.
For exp, you can see my post above and adventures give a good chunk of exp for first completion, and still decent for daily completion (if you can do them).

im sorry, i explained my self badly. My problem is in fact with getting the xp not the points themselves

Alright thanks for clarification.
Like I said earlier, getting exp for the vendor masteries isn’t as much as it seems. Stick to what you like: adventures, exploration, meta events, or even achievements. If your in a hurry though, getting into an organized Dragon’s Stand map and completing meta event is great experience. (don’t forget boosters!)

Explore the maps, preferably with more than one character if you have them. Exploration exp is very generous. Make sure to add boosters if you have them. If you don’t, wvw dailies are a good way to get some short-term xp boosters.
On top of map exploration, try to participate in all events you pass, harvest every node you find, and rez any downed/dead player or npc you come across. Kill xp also adds up, so you might not want to automatically run past all mobs you come across.
And last but not least, if you haven’t done the story yet, do so. The first time through gives a good chunck of mastery exp.
I leveled my masteries by running the event chains, because I enjoyed that. All the boosters you can really help. If you have birthday boosters, if you have celebration boosters, particularly XP boosters, food, utilities, fireworks…anything to get your XP up> The reason XP boosters are good is because they don’t only give you more Xp for kills, they give you more for events too.
