Those of us who are going for HOPE know this too well. Most of the time the event for defending Union Waypoint doesn’t spawn a champ after retaking Union Waypoint because people kill High Priestess Lyssa before the event comes up (which takes a good 10 min after the recapture). Could we have a different Champ Wraith for the Crystalline phial to corrupt because of the timing of the Lyssa event in general (which takes up to 3 hours or more and is unpredictable) and the lack of community support to wait just 5-10 min after reclaiming Union Waypoint before killing Lyssa so the champ wraith can spawn? People tell me to come in the morning, well what if I have work in the morning and can only come in the afternoon or evening and trust to luck I get it? Unlikely. Please Anet, please consider a different champ wraith that is more predictable and less confusing of an event chain dependent on the death of a consecutive boss.

Experienced the above today. After two sessions in the days beforeof waiting for the temple to be contested at all. Highly frustrating.

Going for the vinetooth item felt great, the map was organized to do the east-chain last and we got the thing done with only a few seconds left.
Doing the devouring the brand chain was a great experience, been playing the game for three years now, still havet done this chain much and it’salways fun to (re)discover these event-chains.

However, if I ever get the item of the champ wraith i will probably remember the waiting, the failed events and the hundreds of elementals I killed while waiting…

I think the legendary scavanger hunts are well executed besides events like these.

Another suggestion would be to make the defense event for Lyssa spawn more often and on a timer similar to how the new maps or world bosses work.

…or tie te item to the corrupted high priestess of lyssa.

One more try today: after beging in mapchat, ppl stopped and waited….we waited for 10+ minutes after the first event at union point(destroy the risen structures) was done, no defense event spawned, no champ, no item…pply killed the priestess. gg.

I just tried to get the Champion Risen Wraith to spawn like 20 times now. Every single time, no matter if it was early in the morning or like 10 minutes ago (1:30 am), a more or less big zerg kills Lyssa right after she’s attackable. I gathered some people who also needed the wraith, no one else on the map cared about the pre-events, we had to do all three of them by ourselves to make the Champion Risen Wraith spawn, but as soon as the Lyssa-Event pops up, everyone on the map wants to see her dead…
It’s really frustrating and if you ask them nicely to wait for 10 minutes, they’ll laugh about it and tell you to ask ArenaNet to change this… well… please change it. Make this a pre-event for Lyssa or tie the collection item to another mob… I’m getting really frustated and angry about these mindless people right now, although I know that 99% of them are not aware that they do something that really annoyes a lot of people right now.
