Hi , I’m planning to gift HoT to a friend . I’ve been googling on how to do it but can’t be sure which way is legit/safe to do so. Please help <3 So my question is, well, how can I gift her only HoT since she already has the base game (full account).

When you buy HoT you get a code. If you give her the code, she can apply it to her account.

Just make sure to buy from either ArenaNet, itself, or an authorized retailer. You can find a list of retailers in the Knowledge Base via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search (Retailers)’.

Also, make sure you don’t purchase in-game.

It’s safer (for the person you give the key to) and cheaper to buy it through an official retailer than it is to go directly through ArenaNet. That way if the payment fails, the account won’t be immediately banned. Giving an unopened physical box is the safest option.
