I’d like to get my friend the HoT expansion for christmas but since it’s an ingame buyable expansion I don’t know how to buy it for someone else. Is there codes you can buy anywhere?

Or any other Anet authorized retailer:

Then you can send them the unused game key. They can then apply it to their account or use it to register a new account. Just make sure you don’t register the game key yourself.

^This. And that’s a nice gift to give! I bought some gem store stuff and gifted to friends in-game. I wish they had some of the gliders from before available.
