i was wondering ,
why not enable the possibility to use the gliders everywhere in the game instead of just in the jungle ?

Because the older maps weren’t built for it and you’d break them. Like, graphic glitches, hanging unsupported terrain with holes under it, buildings without backs.

So to “enable” it they would have to literally rebuild each map from the base up, then also change mechanics and design to prevent cheesing JPs or breaking NPC pathing in events. Like … they’d have to build the game all over again and it would take years.

Would have been neat as I would love to find the highest point in a map and glide all over the place. A shame this is not possible…

I think we’ve had quite enough “surprises” from ArenaNet :p
Their surprises tend to be bad things.

Well, at least they allowed me to use my White Wings backpack as a glider
