During the last beta weekend in the first Silver wastes instance it was possible to hanglide, is this a feature or a bug? Would be awesome if you could hang glide in SW or DT in heart of thorns!

Probably a “bug”. You were within a beta Silverwaste instance that leads to the new map instances and the story instance in there. The game probably had one type of beta instance over there and flying was part of it.

Afaik you can only use your glider in the new maps, therefore gliding shouldn’t be possible in Silverwastes.

That happened to me too. I was just starting a new beta toon and jumped out of the red fort to run to Amber, and started gliding
My guess is it’s probably just because it’s a beta instance.

I could maybe see gliding being possible in SW. They did say they’d like to make gliding possible in new maps going forward, and it’s certainly possible they were working on the gliding system at the time they built the SW map. Old maps will break if gliding is introduced but perhaps SW isn’t old enough to have that problem?
