Good ending! [SPOILER]'ish
If you realize that you are technically fighting Mordy (from the inside) at the same time everyone else is fighting him outside (Dragon Stand Meta Event) I think it makes the whole experience quite impressive.
Am I good?… I’m good.
The final boss was a bit of a shock tbh, taimi wants to find mordremoths vulnerability and that would take weeks as she said and then your personal character goes: ‘I know his vulnerability’ and everyone goes omg amazing idea.
Also kind of strange how mordremoth has zero self reflection and doesn’t take actions on protecting his ‘vulnerability’.

Okay, thats makes sense. Was first time a couple of us walked into Dragon Stand but we knew there was a big meta fight over the whole zone so I was thinking THAT was Mordremoth.
But what you said makes sense. Ya, that is cool.
“Friends kept joking that Marjy didnt have any spare greatswords around to keep their souls in.”
Hahhahaha, that made me laugh a lot.
I love the story. Will replay it many times, for the achievements and on my other toons to get all the armor/weapon/backpieces that it rewards you with. I would never do that if the story wasn’t interesting.
But sadly it felt (again) rushed at the end. Every. Single. Chapter. Was AWESOME! Truly. Until the very end, where it felt like it’s missing 15ish chapters in between chapter 15 and chapter 16. It didn’t honor the build up it made through the year. A powerful dragon that just woke up and became the most dangerous. His grasp spread all across Tyria (world) very fast, he was intelligent and talkative unlike Zhaitan. So much story and suddenly puff, it just ends. Such a huge threat ended so suddenly.
I’d be far happier if HoT story stopped at chapter 15 or something, and then we wait for the next living story. Three living stories later we actually get to face Mordremoth.
I haven’t finished the Dragon’s Stand meta, haven’t get past the collector stage yet so no clue what the Mouth of Mordremoth actually is yet. But from what I’ve heard the root monster from the trailer doesn’t appear anywhere?
What about the actual dragon? The one who’s head we see after Scarlet Briar breaks the ley line hub in Lion’s Arch and wakes the dragon? Is that the Mouth we fight in Dragon’s Stand?

to be fair, his vulnerability wasn’t that exposed, there were only two with access to the dream at the time, one being in a coma and half a continent away, and the other was moments away from being corrupted.
by the time both you and mordy realized the dream could be used to kill him, you were already too close to stop.
the alternative that I would have chosen if I were mordremoth would have been to take that tendril and bash trahearne against the walls until he became a fine mulch the second he brought up the fact that he could access mordremoth’s mind, but that would have been WAY too brutal for a T-Rated game.

Exactly this. When Trahearne suggested that idea the dragon even made some sort of angry roar. Even Rytlock commented how “The Dragon doesn’t like that idea”. Just confirming to us that the dragon himself found out about the plan to. If he could pull away Trahearne the second we killed Faolain, he could have done something here as well.
