I haven’t been following all the optimizations for HoT grinding since launch, but I feel like I need to get into it. I have been playing HoT on and off since launch and found out quickly that gaining Mastery level is difficult (barely get any for events). I see people at over level 100 and am wondering what some of the good techniques are for grinding Mastery level. I do use boosters and food already. Thanks.

The majority of your XP will come from enemy kills. Use boosters that boost the XP gains from that. DS has a lot of enemies and is frequently run making it one of the best and efficient places to level masteries.

If you’re not in a rush then you can just play the maps naturally. The only benefit to maxing masteries is if you want to get the new legendary weapons. Most of the masteries are nice to have but not necessary.

I will mentioned that if you have interest into any items that require the map currencies, get the very first Nuhoch mastery right away. You’ll occasionally get currency bags from enemy kills.

If you want to grind out masteries, and are only limited by experience, I would suggest saving your boosters, food & utility and using them in Dragon’s Stand. I found my characters would get well over 1 Million experience per meta there. And that was with only one experience booster and food/utility. I’m sure if you really stacked one could get much more.

It was a bunch of fast spawning veteran spiders in close proximity that you could farm endlessly for massive amounts of XP.

It was on similar levels to the CoF farm people do for core masteries.

just get HOT and do maguuma map comletion u will get plenty of xp. In other word just play the game u will get plenty.

Spider farming will rot your brain, and you’ll also upscale some events near there without actually helping. So I wouldn’t recommend that.

If you have a bunch of alts you can park, adventures can be a great source of experience, especially if you only have a little time to play. It’ll take a few weeks if you only do this, but you’ll only need to spend about 30 minutes a day if you park alts to speed up your travel time, ~60 minutes otherwise. They take about 2 minutes on average and are each worth 53k experience daily. If you can do most of them, that’s around 700k experience in 30 minutes.

If you can find ways to grind money and exp at the same time, do that.

Usually best to achieve multiple things at the same time.

For example, for Tyria mastery, I would just do teq daily, since I do that anyway.

You get tons if you actually stick out for the whole meta.

The raid actually grands you some decent experience.

Wish we would have more than 3 bosses so far.

It’s up to you. Grinding bores me and so I’ve just been playing with friends and the points accumulate fast enough for me.

I keep forgetting to pop most of my boosters, i haven’t done any of the adventures (never mind doing them daily), nor do I follow the hero point cycle daily. And I’ve still got plenty of masteries unlocked.

I know how you feel, i was dreading the massive grind until i took my reaper to dragon stand, just start at beginning event and complete the events until last boss, the xp is awesome im now on level 63 just doing dragon stand,

That’s what I need to do. Make some friends. Play with them. It’s all so easy. Well it would be if I weren’t me. lol
