Maguuma is harder than other areas, and that’s been great for me. Some of the hero challenges are super difficult, which makes it extra rewarding when I complete them.
But some of the hero challenges don’t feel like they were designed to be soloable at all. And it’s not that I’m dying – because I’m not – it’s that there is no way in the time limit given I can come close to taking down the boss’s health.
There are some hero challenges that feel like difficult single player experiences, but the ones I’m talking about I think were designed to be completed by groups. So what usually happens is that I fight them, and I whittle at their health for 8 minutes (or however long that timer is) and then the event fails with neither of us dead and only a slight chip in their health. The moment a group comes in, these bosses get transformed from difficult solo challenges to easy group zerg festivals.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have these be more focused on groups completing them, but maybe they could be rebalanced so that if there is only one person there it can completed by them, albeit much more difficult than with a group.
