I know everyone has been guessing longbow for Guardian, but I haven’t seen any good proof yet, but I might have found some.

frozen at the 0:55 mark, look at the Charr on the far right. Heavy armor, holding a bow, and the only character on screen with Aegis active. It would be on more characters if a Guardian nearby activated the virtue, AND his projectile fires one at a time unlike the warrior. I suppose it could also be a Rev with an unannounced wep using a legend with access to Aegis or one of those lesser-used rune sets that gives Aegis.

Again, I may have missed someone else finding better evidence than this, but it still makes me excited

This was brought up the day that the video came out… It’s the main reason why folks say Longview for guardian.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

In that same shot I also see a guardian with a scepter/shield that has aegis on him.

Dear A-net: Please nerf rock. Paper is fine

I think it would be awesome if they did do that for guardian because I’m thinking of the Japanese holy shrine maiden archetype that used the bow as a design based off of the four directions and used arrows to purify, heal, and destroy demons (nothing like the demons of the west btw).

For example, the Momote-shiki , the hundred-arrow ritual, is a ritual performed each January to honor the coming of age day and in November to pray for a bountiful harvest in Shinto could be used as inspiration for a skill.

They could also borrow heavily from the huntress goddesses in the western mythologies as well there’s plenty of room for inspiration there.

It’s an archetype that’s found throughout the digital entertainment culture with themes in shows like Sailor Moon, and Inuyasha. It would take the class in a whole new unexplored direction if they used this archetype for the Guardian in this expansion.

if u want to go in a complete different direction, it’d be a blackguard. condition stuff. could add poisons, fears, whatever. blood stealing. its even got guard in the name. seems too easy a spec. maybe next round of specs.
