Guardian and Engineer leaks?
Likely not true, as the demo isn’t even available to the public yet.
that surgical strike tho
well IF this actually is what i gonna get with my engi hammer.. then i gonna need a LOT more lube and tissues here….ya know.. cause i gonna cry in joy and i got crusty ellbows..
-cough cough-
Engineer: Hammer:
1.
(A) Friction Swing: Swing your hammer and gather heat.
(B) Heated Swing: Swing your hammer again, gathering more heat.
(C ) Blasting Cap: Smash the super heated hammer into the ground, detonating the blasting cap on its tip.
2. Nerve Sap: Spin and leech speed, crippling nearby foes. Gain swiftness for each foe hit.
3. Sonic Uppercut: Swing your hammer, launching a sonic wave in a line that launches foes back towards you.
4. Rocket Rush: Slide forward and collide with your target, leaving behind a line of fire that burns foes. Immobilizes on impact.
5. Surgical Strike: Point and drop an explosive rocket on the target area.
Didnt the Engi in the vid have some sort of drones around him? I kinda assumed they were part of its hammer skills and not some additional utility skill
Gunnar’s Hold
plz, these engineer skills.
This leak was posted sometime around 2013 btw, and that engi hammer auto-attack sounds pretty spot-on, so I find it hard to deny.

well to be fair they said that specialisations come with weapon, utility\healing\elite skills and new mechanic. Maybe the new mechanic are the drones…like for the F1-4 skills…but i actually hope they arent. I do like to use my kits and without the F skills i loose 2 blast finishers, 1 stun break and stability…boy that would suck

True, and it’s possible that many of the leaked skills were early prototypes and might have changed since then. Especially guardian’s longbow stances: I wonder if they’ll still exist, and if so, if they’ll still be weapon skills or part of the profession’s mechanic.
those leaks are years old. most skills and mechanics probably changed a lot since then.
proof? engi shield 4 was announced as a skill that absorbs projectiles that can be fired back later. that wasn’t a 2 year old leak, that was an official announcement (with videos) less than a year before public betas started.
Guardian and Engineer leaks?

Judging by the lack of conditions on those hammer abilities I’m assuming its gonna be power oriented.
That bow sounds kinda awesome for guardians, you can actually utilize it as a dedicated healer weapon along with all of these outgoing healing modifier items that have been coming out it looks like they may want to be pushing support as an actual dedicated role rather than a line of toolsets as Josh Davis has stated in regards to his meta speculations in stronghold.
EDIT: just saw skill 4 on the hammer completely missed it.

Source?
that one website that gets censored/blacklisted on most forums. reddit has a thread on it with links to the source.
If this is true…. I am going Guardian/Engineer as my two Mains in HoT..
Simple as that!!!
I love 2hander Melee in GW2, and I love playing Support. and well these two leaks have a lot of this in good ways.
Sorry Great Sword Necro and Revenant, but these two took your place on the hype list!
What we know 90% certain is that engineers are getting hammers (although ANet might wake up one morning and decide to change that, so until we get official word). The guardian is mostly just guess work. As for the ability specifications… well until we get a source it’s still possibly just guess work.
The guardian is mostly just guess work.
Actually, through careful analysis, a guardian can be seen using a longbow in the trailer. It’s really hard to spot, but there’s a topic on Reddit about it somewhere.
So adding a “stance” on a guardian how would that mechanic work? You’re saying you hear it’s just for longbow or all weapons? Guardian does have the F4 skill unused. It’d be interesting but weird to add a totally diff mechanic to their roster of F1-F3
Just for longbow. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if the guardian specialization’s new profession mechanic has a similar theme.
If these leaks are that old then at least they’re a little more solid than half the rumors circulating recently.
That being said, if it has been two years then it’s possible that they’ve scrapped, redesigned, adapted, so on and so forth to get to this point. We know engie hammer is for real, and that primary attack seems pretty darn close.
As for the guardian? well, longbow certainly sounds interesting, but that wold certainly dash my hopes of them being able to dual wield daggers. I’m curious to see if they kept some of this material
guardian specialization
turns virtues into actual stances that completely rework what types of effects weapons have
yes give me all of that sauce
Ah, another step in the never ending struggle to make Rangers the worst longbow archer class in the game .
Neat ideas, but I’m unconvinced. A couple of those sound much more like utility slot effects rather than weapon skills.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
The sheer fact they call them “DPS” and “Support” stance makes this seem fishy, though it could just be a beta placeholder.
yea and were is the control stance?

whut. there are two longbow users in the game, and longbow is the meta option for both of them.
Neat ideas, but I’m unconvinced. A couple of those sound much more like utility slot effects rather than weapon skills.
thief shortbow says hi. it’s a utility dispenser, and it’s amazing for that.
yea and were is the control stance?
it’s called “literally everything else the guardian does” :P

Giving the engineer another almost useless autoattack – sounds like that could be true.
Even on my guard I don´t like the hammer-aa-chain – and he has a lot more stability and condition cleaning options than my engineer.
While hammers might sound cool for engineer because of looks and theme, imo they don´t fit the gameplay of an engineer in GW2 because of the above restrictions.
This sort of info was leaked all the way back in 2013. As far as I’m concerned, the functionality has most likely changed and even if some of these skills still exist, then the numbers have certainly changed. As a precaution, I’m going to keep my excitement meter regarding specializations low until some more concrete info is released.
just wanted to state something about the autoattack i saw by watching the trailer:
1. the autoattack chain seems to be following the enemy in a kind of way like the swordauto from the ranger
2. the first two attacks need aproximately 0,83 seconds each, though the game will probably say, that it takes 1/2 casttime
3. the thirdattack takes 1.66seconds (ingame 1 like above)
The sheer fact they call them “DPS” and “Support” stance makes this seem fishy, though it could just be a beta placeholder.
The stances aren’t called that; they’re called “Protector’s Light” and “Zealot’s Retribution”. I think the alpha tester who posted those skills just said “Support” and “DPS” because he didn’t feel like typing out “Protector’s Light” and “Zealot’s Retribution” every time.
The names for the support/dps variations of the skills are likely placeholders though. For example, the support stance’s symbol is clearly called “Symbol of Energy” in the description, but it’s listed as “Symbol of Battle” just like the DPS stance’s symbol.

These both seem way too involved and intricate compared to most other weapon skill sets, to me. Especially the Guard Longbow.
I mean, maybe that’s how they’re going to do Spec weapons, make them super impressive and interesting to entice people to use them. Or maybe the reason they never made it out of Alpha is because they were too complex.

There’s no reason to think that you will lose things and gain nothing in return. Why would it not be possible to continue to have blast finishers and the like in the slots if that’s how they design the spec?
Engi hammer sounds cool, hope it’s like that. AA blast would be pretty sweet.
I admit, as someone who enjoys his engineer, that mention of a BLASTING CAP on the end of the hammer is positively glorious. That said the Guardian skills, if the stance thing is real, seem a bit subpar to me. I mean its basically "Hurt this guy, or heal that guy, for everything. One would hope a “support” stance would have more….I dunno….boons/condition removal/support effects that aren’t “heals the target”?
