The picture also shows them using it two handed. Which while is not 100% proof, it is an indication that its a ‘two-handed- bow’

Um, how would you possibly use a bow ‘onehanded?’

Grab one end, beat enemy over the head with it.

Reasons why it won’t be short-bow:

1. Longbow is a long-range weapon—something that Guardian lacks.
2. Shortbow is primarily a medium-range, high-mobility skirmishing weapon, something that doesn’t fit the guardian very well thematically
3. As mentioned above, Shortbow is a medium range weapon—something that Guardian already has in the staff

Well chuffed with this. Have wanted a longbow for my Guardian for some time now.

Those wings in the pic make me even more excited. Good stuff, cannot wait to see the reveal this week.

If Paragon and shout based goodness incoming, can we has “I-WAY” at our disposal Anet?

Going rifle and Pistol would have been a cool playing against type that is very in sync with the GW2 world.

Longbow is layering high fantasy on top of high fantasy.

Rifle and Pistol are like the least Guardian-like weapons available :/ Maybe play Warrior instead?

That’s the point, it’d be interesting to make a ‘not-guardianlike’ weapon fitting for a guardian. A longbow is dull and obvious and boring.

no…it really wouldn’t be interesting at all…just different for the sake of being different at the cost of expanding the class aesthetic/theme coherently.

very glad they went this route (although most expected it since HoT specialiozations were announced). longbow is the best choice for the needed long-range weapon set.

Will be next spec in the same way: core + change or next spec will be like: previous spec + change.

with next expansion, we will get just another elite specialization and the system will stay the same, so you will be able to choose one elite spec + 2 core specs or just 3 core specs… the only difference will be more elite specs to choose…

Longbow seems most likely to me. As to the name, if it is not going to be called Paragon, I would guess something in the lines of Sentinel or Avenger. Sentinel because its another word for a guardian and Avenger because if they fail to protect you they will avenge your death.

I am really looking forward to what the longbow will offer. Can’t wait for more info on this.
