So, my guild, [Para] Paradise, has run into an interesting problem. We are a IMMENSELY active guild. and have been enjoying decorating our guild hall. However, we have reached an problem. We cant put up any more decorations. Apparently the limit is 1000 per guild hall. We sorta blew that out of the water in no time. Devs, is there any plans on making it possible to upgrade that limit? Why is there a limit at all?

Agreed! Our guild has REALLY gotten into decorating our guild hall, to the point of people “buying” houses so they can have exclusive decorating rights to their spot. We realized quickly that there was a limit and now have to ration the decorations. :-/

Is there any chances for the cap to rise? 1000 is very low cap considering the huge size of the halls. Ours still feels almost empty at cap and we don’t even have the lvl 40 exploration yet.

1000 would be fine for a hall 1/10 of current size.

I did not write this code so I unfortunately do not have a definite answer to this, but I think this number is based on a technical constraint.

I do want to discuss that there is discrepancy between what is being stated as the actual intended cap for decorations. Two say it is 2000. One says it is 1000. They are both recent statements that were made by official employees of Anet. I am just pointing out the conflicting statement and hoping someone here (an employee with the codes in front of them) can recheck and confirm what it is. I am pretty sure that is a reasonable request.

I feel like guilds need more flexibility with this. Anet can certainly recommend an item count, but should not restrict us.

Ditto. If scribe costs get drastically reduced to the point that I can actually level it and start making some of the nicer decorations, I’m going to be blowing up my guild hall. I’ve already tried doing little things here and there, but with my recent additions of staircases to hard to reach places for those that didn’t want to do the jumping puzzle, it’s getting pretty tight.

I think I might have like 100 or 200 more decorations left that before cleaning up some remnants here and there of the original jumping puzzles I made.

How would you propose that they change the game engine limits to offer more than 1,000 decorations? Near as I can tell, everyone at ANet would also like the limit to far exceed 1,000, they just haven’t figured out a way that doesn’t stuff up everyone’s CPU/GPU.

Are there only 1,000 mobs on any map at any given time? or How many Creatures, nodes, npc’s and players are there?, less then 1000? Are decorations coded differently or treated differently then these 4? Obviously i know nothing about compressing data for gaming, but it does seem odd that it would be limited to only 1,000 based on size of guild hall and what is already in maps.

It seems like future expansion of guild halls vertically could be an option as they are already wonderfully high I love exploring so finding all the nooks and crannies high up is very fun. Though I wish there was a reward chest or secret nodes hidden away to discover. Even npc’s with lore or something other then empty space and ruins! Interactive plaques for instance would be nice
