Guild Hall Decorations
It’s very confusing making decorations. You need A to craft B to craft C to craft D, it’s a figurative Russian nesting dolls approach.
I would like to see some decorations coming out of wvw and spvp. Many world bosses drop decoration items, but I get nothing defending my keep from the hordes for 3 hours. Other than the smug sense of satisfaction that they failed.

I agree the scribe crafting process is completely bogged down and doesn’t necessarily make sense when crafting upgraded versions.
Maybe add seige models to guild halls? Lol At least it would add to the war room feel. I do think wvw players should have drops as well but I can’t think of any other decorations to use from wvw.
Spvp I’m just as lost. It’s not like they’ll let you craft a clock tower or something so massive related to pvp.
Oh, and just a thought, but there could be trophies in reward tracks for wvw and spvp so then people like myself who have been running world boss trains and harvesting like crazy with no trophy drops can at least get one.

10% chance of a “catapult frame” after breaking a catapult, which can be crafted into a model catapult. I like it.

It’s very easy, actually. Select the decoration you want to make. Check which of the required items you have. Don’t have one? Click on the magnifying glass icon to make it. Missing something there as well? Click a magnifying glass again. When done making said items, click cancel to go back to the previous tab. Do this until you have all the items needed for the decoration. It’s how all crafting works in this game. It’s a simple and logical system that fortunately no longer requires you to close the tab of the item you need to search through the entire list of craftable items, before looking up the item you want to craft again. Without those magnifying glass icons Scribing would truly be a pain in the kitten , but this system makes it quick and easy.

By the time you get several layers in, that method ceases to be quick.

Alright, I’ll rephrase. It makes it quicker than before they implemented the magnifying glass icon. But it’s most certainly not confusing.
It is, however, annoying when you aren’t swimming in mats, specifically sand and brown pigment. Maybe I will stop needing those once I get a bit higher, but for now I see a decoration I want to make, I drill down through all the components via the nesting system (which is soooo much better than the old interface, yes). And then I realize I’m out of sand or pigment, just need oooooone more of that, and I have to close all my windows to get at the TP because even if I want to spawn a TP merchant where I am I have to access my bank first, which collapses my crafting windows and woe betide me if I forget which decoration I was working on or where in the nested windows I was.
Hence I am still only Scribe 70 even though I started working on it last October (then stopped until the April revamp made it cheaper). It’s just too tedious to skill it up without a guild funneling me materials.
I started and leveled up my scribe to 379 last weekend. Bad news: you still need the basics as you craft higher stuff. Unless it’s wvw schematics like emergency waypoints.
But that’s kinda off topic. I just started this for more fun ideas for decorations and fixing what is already available.
As I said in my Uzolan thread, the mix of crafting and collections worked well there. I hope we get more of that. Perhaps with just a tad less insane RNG..
Whoops, sorry for the derail. I really like your various ideas in the OP. I’ll add in a glaring omission that others have mentioned in other decoration discussion threads: Beds! There are plenty of models in game for all the races.
Heck, just offer sleeping bags like we see in Seeds of the Past (and in the maze in Cursed Shore iirc). Cots. Anything to help it feel more like a place characters are occupying long term.
Simple things that are useful for playing an RPG using GW2. \
Backpacks, candles, rope . . . etc.
