As someone who is interested in lore in general, I was excited to claim our guild hall and really fed into the line that it was once home to an civilization. Problem is there are no hints on who they were or what their importance was to Tyria, the elder dragons or anything. All we get is that Modremoth wanted the crystal inside of it but even that we aren’t told much about and why he would want it. Give us the ability to interact with stuff and find out more about the civilization that lived there before us so that we can tell the story of that lost culture.

We’ll be introducing two guild halls with the launch of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. The first is the Lost Precipice, a hidden canyon refuge on the border between the Maguuma Jungle and the wastelands to the north. Empty cliff dwellings dot the walls of the precipice, and rope bridges connect stone spires of dizzying heights. Who carved the dwellings, passages, and statues into the rock of this windswept retreat, and what happened to them?
Secreted beyond a lost golden city in the heart of the jungle, the second guild hall that players can explore and settle is the Gilded Hollow. This monolithic cavern contains the remnants of an outpost of that city, but why was such a grandiose space carved out in the first place, and why was it abandoned? The answers await those willing to brave its winding halls and the vast aquifer it’s built atop.

I guess I just do not see this. I walk around my guild’s hall and see nothing that might tell the story of the civilization that lived there previously.

An Exalted npc told me or I read it somewhere in the game, the Guild Halls were previous cities the Exalted used before they moved to Tarir Golden City. Those old cities were expired (something about no more energy I forgot) so they had to move their city.

I can’t recall where I got those info though. Most likely somewhere in Tarir.

The note about the Guild Halls being made by the Forgotten and Exalted is wrote on several of the tablets in Tarir.

There no given reason why they abandoned the Lost Precipice and the Gilded Hollow, it simply says “when it no longer served us, we moved on.”, relating to the Precipice, and “Ultimately, we left there as well” on the tablet about the Gilded Hollow.

However, there is also a tablet that says Tarir will one day “no longer serve” the Exalted, and they will abandon Tarir also.

Its likely the cities were built for specific purposes, then once that purpose was fulfilled, they left and built another city for a different purpose. Its said Glint specifically chose the location of Tarir for a reason. I can’t give that reason though, because its spoilers for HoT, and this thread has no [Spoiler] tag.

Also, just a note; in both guild halls a portion is not accessible until you reach guild level 40 and purchase the ‘further exploration’ upgrade. Hopefully, this will provide more information in regards to the history and lore of the halls.

these tablets in tarir wouldnt they be better served near or around these halls or even in them? Personally I’d love to know more about the crystal at the heart of each hall.. Anyone got anything on that? How do I add a spoiler tag?
