Guild Hall decorations I feel are missing
The new episode has access to a rug and some paintings once the story is done if that helps.
Everything Asura is missing. Anything you could use to make control panels, lab equipment, tesla coils, floating cubes, etc, is not there.
We can argue all plants can be considered Sylvari, but even with them “solved”, there aren’t Charr or Norn decorations.
Everything is somewhat in the side of Human Krytan aesthetics…
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

I did not notice the rug. One rug is a start, but as I said, I’d really love a large variation in rugs and such.
After you finish the story, you can find Albert up inside a high cabin at Lakeside Bazaar.

my god, another gold sink
I cant believe Anet sold guild halls as a big pc of HOT when every item to decorate needs i guess 50g
I agree! Having more decorations would be great. I love the Norn themes myself. More interactive items as well. IE: foodstuff like Fruit cart that give randoms food products.
ALSO – THE COST FOR MAKING SOME DECORATIONS ARE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! ESPECIALLY IF THERE’S ONLY A SINGULAR PERSON DOING THE DECORATION CRAFTING!
I’d like more… larger decorations. Lost Precipice in particular is a HUGE map, and these little decorations in these HUGE rooms look somewhat silly – especially while trying to keep to the item limit.
As one of two scribes in a guild, I admit crafting prices are somewhat annoying – moreso since a prettier guildhall doesn’t affect raiding or fractal performance. I guess guildhalls were targeted at a more… specific target audience.

I must agree with all of the above.
- Larger decorations
- Other cultural props for basically everything but human/Lions Arch
- Removal of steep prices for relatively small decorations, or having a better method of acquiring joined effort decorations, if thats the reason these prices are so ridiculous. I wouldnt mind a GH donation currency that you can buy like influence was which then can be spend by anyone with the permissions set.
- Lowering prices of building block decorations would be way more fun than having to try to farm 1 tiny pebble times 8 times 2 times 2 times 2 or whichever amount yielding only one building block. SAB decorations are easily mass produced, but somehow this is the only thing that actually lets you build fun structures, whereas other building blocks need quite the farm in order to get lots of fun blocks to play with. If economy is an issue, then realize that the easier (upto a point) it is to get blocks the more incentive there is to get lots of building blocks.

This was designed as group content, and is priced to reflect that. Like dungeons, you totally can solo it, if you want, but don’t expect it to be as fast or convenient as doing it with a team will be.

Yeah some decorations (definitely not all) indeed are mostly designed with group content in mind, though it is hugely impractical in set up with acc bound scribing materials, requiring account bound achievement items or dungeon gifts. There’s also some which are just expensive for very little to show for in return.

Part of the “group” part is donations of money or items to the scribe, who is basically doing the clicky part for the entire group. Plus time to help them, eg, through achieves, doing dungeon runs, etc, to get those bits.
It’s … possibly not the right choice, but it’s the one that anet clearly made with this. It definitely disappoints people who really wanted a “personal housing” option, and opt to use a guild for that purpose.

AFAIK they specifically changed scribing to be more friendly especially for smaller guilds/solo players. Its “only” 375 gold to max scribing following the guide. So what you’re saying about the design intend is at least a year out of date.
Then again we were mostly talking about the costs for decorations themselves I thought. Not scribing as a whole. |It was said that SOME decorations are fairly expensive, which I would clearly see as group objective, like uzolans orchestra or the raid and world boss statues. But others really are just expensive like flags and plants, while not always being all that big or interestingly different.
Personally I have leveled scribe all alone and made loads and loads of decorations. though it’s been my focus mostly when I have excess money. I do ask for donations, but I definitely don’t depend that much on them.

Price of all decorations is very much solo friendly these days. They already dropped the price of everything by around 95%.
At first it used to cost around 2000g to level scribe and every item was between 50-900g to create.
Now it’s about 400g to level and things cost 2-50g to make
