No more influence. You’ll need Favor, that’s only from doing guild missions, to progress the guild itself. You can either spend all your influence now or hold it to buy Favor, but I’ve heard the exchange rate is not good.
ANet may give it to you.

You need Favor, ~5 players, and 100 Gold to obtain a Guild Hall. I don’t think they stated the exact amount of Favor needed, but it seemed that it might be around 200 or 300. Maybe more.
Good luck.
100g and favor.
i remember reading somewhere that doing 2 or 3 of the weekly guild missions can earn enough favor to get guild hall. The dev did say it should be unlockable in 1 week. So either a few or all of the guild missions.
Incoming Quaggans [iQ]
While the numbers are “still being balanced” to gain a guild hall is 100g + Favor as everyone before me has stated. That is only for claiming the hall. After that unless you want an empty guild hall your looking at items below as an example. This information was gathered from Guild Chat & Heart of Thorns Website and is likely to change.
Projected Guild Hall Merchant Costs
30 gold + 25 ? (blue mystery items)
Projected Guild Hall Repair Station Costs
20 gold + 25 ? (blue mystery items)
Projected Guild Hall Vault Storage Costs
50 gold + 1000? (blue mystery items)
I am assuming we will not be charged this price if we have already unlocked our guild vaults, I could be wrong?
Projected Tier 1 Tavern Restoration Costs
250 Elder Wood Planks
250 Mithril Ingots
50 Bottles of elonian Wine
50 Empty Kegs
20 Obsidian Shards
Projected Tier 1 Armorer Restoration Costs
1000 Mithril Ingots
1000 Bolts of Silk
500 10 Slot Iron Boxes
Again these numbers are “still being balanced” according to video linked above. Though these are tier 1 possible costs. I’m a little worried about the remaining VI tiers.
In short, a guild hall is going to cost Gold + Favor + Aetherium + Resonance to claim and upgrade. It will cost Favor + Aetherium + Resonance + Materials to restore. All guild boons | Missions are crafted using materials. Decorations are bought using coin + Karma + (mystery items) and upgraded using materials (I think, could be wrong).

What do we ‘restore’? How is that different than upgrading?
I’m assuming that’s a reference to the ruined state of the guild halls. As in, “Here’s some rubble, let’s restore it and make it a tavern!”
For Tier 1, anyway. After that, it might just read “upgrade” as usual.
Kaerleikur @ Elonaspitze
in short, you need a big enough guild to get favor and you have to be rich.
in shorter terms, impossible for smaller non-rich guilds.

Something tells me that guilds are going to be levying a “guild tax” to pay for the hundreds of gold needed to get a guild hall. It’s going to be interesting when it comes down to guild drama between “moochers” who don’t or can’t pay and people who are paying to fund a guild hall.
ANet may give it to you.
I am a bit worried about the prices to get guild stuff when it comes to smaller guilds:
>> gold : OK, individual members can contribute without an effect on the economy (e.g. dungeon runs), but setting 100g to unlock the GH with the exploration and this is only the entry level of things?
>> materials : just look at 500 10 slot iron boxes to start out with. Runes are not impacting the economy but iron? While iron is not that hard to get (not ignoring the 37s price for one box according to wiki right now – still hefty price for the complete stack), the impact on T2 fabrics & leather will be way more significant (already troubled by ascended crafting)
>> favour : The three people minimum requirement is OK, but I’d say slowing small guilds down already. Do not forget you have time windows on the guild missions and small guilds either can’t repeat again until success because of limited members or limited time slots their members can meet.
What I would really like to see is the “time factor” playing into the upgrades. If you want to get upgrades fast and rush towards a fully upgraded GH, go for it at “full price”. If you are working on it gradually, prices of upgrades should deteriorate to perhaps half the price after a while, so in the end even small guilds get a chance to get their upgrades.
What I fear will happen is: Large guilds are pushing fast to get upgrades and can do it because of shared costs + buying stuff off the TP (and therefore making prices of mats spike), while small guilds will actually have to talk about guild taxes and try to force their members into doing guild missions out side their comfort zone (e.g. PvP or WvW) to get at least drops of favour to progress and upgrade.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)

As I understand it, upgrades are bought using coin and add additional features to your hall such as a Tavern Tent. Restorations are what it takes to craft the actual guild hall building. Recall from the linked video above for example if you buy the Tavern T1 upgrade from the Initiative you will get a basic tent like structure you can begin using tavern services from. The actual completed build will cost Favor + Materials + Resonance to create. I presume that a restoration is also what we will pay after the hinted mordrem retaliate and trash our hall.
I do not see this as a “death of small guilds / guild halls” as some in map chat have suggested. Rather it will take a little longer to restore is all. Guild claiming scales and you can LFG for help (just no recruiting in lfg!) if your a solo guild claiming your hall or reclaiming. Think of Guild Halls as a dungeon, how would you succeed in doing a dungeon? Then do the same for Guild Claiming. No Shame in a PUG Hall
I suppose they added the Map Reward System to help off set the material costs of a guild hall. I could be wrong. Though as a PvEr I am excited about those map rewards!!

This system drastically puts the balance of power on the big, established guilds side. With the grandfathering of guild vaults, that’s that much less cost to pay for a guild hall. How can a new guild, just starting up, compete against this?
Let’s say you have Joe Random, who has dreams of starting his own guild. Not only does he have no guild vault to put stuff in but no cool guild hall for all the guildies to hang out. Because of the cost, he is not going to get these things in any realistic amount of time unless he has deep pockets or he taxes his guildies to help pay. Will his guildies, who are members of up to 4 other guilds which may also be taxing them for their guild hall, be willing to pay his guild tax when they they are being taxed by other guilds or if they can join an established guild and get it for free or cheaper?
I’m not dead sure ANet considered human nature and the way the guilds are set up when they thought up these costs.

Guild Members should already be contributing to the guild hall. There is no need for a “tax” simply add a line to the MotD asking for donation for Guild Hall Restorations. They should and will donate. After all playing and donating together is what guild halls are about right?

How about the people who are members of multiple guilds, each of them are asking for “donations” to help build their Guild Hall? This could get expensive, or have people dropping out of guilds that are asking for “donations”.
In general, donation requests for things that are “required” to function stop being donation requests and start being taxes.

There is no ‘reclaiming’ of Guild Halls once you have claimed it. There will be no attacks that you must defend once you have claimed your Guild Hall. I still don’t understand the ‘restoration’ part of the post.

Maybe it’s because the guild hall is a city in ruins and you have to restore it to its unruined state?
ANet may give it to you.
Pretty sure that’s covered in claiming it and then upgrading it.
I suppose it doesn’t matter, though, but I’m fairly certain it’s a one-time process. (No reclaiming/restoring it, unless, of course, you change Guild Halls.)

Exactly, I think they just set their sights on forcing players to play together more is what they are trying to solve without fully thinking about all the problems that will be coming in less than 2 weeks.
“ANet. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to not mess up.”
Mod “Posts created to cause unrest with unfounded claims are not allowed” lmao
… Exactly what will we need to obtain the Guild Halls? Will we need influence to spend? Are there any requirements? Any special items we need? …
100 gold is needed to mount the expedition to get your guild hall. The asura explorer will immediately run away with your money, but meet you at the entrance to your hall. You can try to take the hall as many times as you need until you get it.
Spend your influence and merits now. When HoT drops, you will still be able to spend these to speed up guild hall projects, but it won’t be worth as much as it is now. Influence and merits are basically going away. Favor will be the new thing.
We get hints of special items from some of the “PoI” and “Guild Chat” streams, especially the 4-part Guild Week bits:

True, reclaiming is a term I use for when the mordrem attack the guild halls after we have claimed it. The restoration process is also what you do to craft from Tent to Building. They have already said there would be attacks after we have claimed the halls, hence the restoration process. Don’t just look at the videos, listen to them. Where did you find they said there would not be?
http://www.dungeon-adventures.com
I think you are mistaken. Please link the video that states Mordrem will attack Guild Halls once claimed. I’ve never seen/heard this, nor have I seen anyone else post about it.
Good luck.
Here is just one of the videos I concluded we would have “Guild Hall Attacks” or need to “reclaim”. There is another video with Link where he makes very similar statements about the “stability / safety” of our guild halls. Then there is this:
The explorers are seeking guilds willing and able to mount expeditions to liberate these ruins, and Tyrian world governments have agreed to cede ownership of the ruins to successful guilds so long as they maintain a presence in those places and defend them from recapture by the dragons.
However I also found this on YouTube.
“Stuart Bailey 1 week ago Will mordremoth try to take your guild halls back once you retake it? Or will he just give up once you’ve driven his minions away?”
“Nope, once you have the hall it is yours! ~Rubi”
Having seen the originals on Twitch I was not away of this comment on the YouTube video. Makes me happy!! Makes Guild Halls that much better That means these should be one time costs. Though they are still costs none the less!
I think the big picture is we just wont know anything for sure until its released and we find out for ourselves on the 23rd.
