Guild Halls are very difficult to unlock

Hello everyone,
I’m not sure if more people have this experience but i find that the amount of stuff we have to do to get our Guild Hall is stupid and difficult.
My guild is a casual average one of 16-17 players, with the usual active 8 players. With a full party we can’t claim our Guild Hall, because they made a ridiculously dumb timer, thats fine to kill everything in within the time limit, unless it randomly spawns on the other side of the map. You are literally in a gambling machine where if you are lucky and the next marker of modrem is relativly close, you will be able to make it within the assigned time. However, i’d like Arenanet to nerv this bigtime!
I would’ve expected that we would walk in our guild hall, and simply kill all the mobs within the map to claim it ours, but no…… Its time based area clearing.. which is very boring and also ruins our “fun” experience.
Make it at least more accessible for smaller guilds, not everyone wants a guild of 50 or more players. =)
So far there have been claims that it adjusts to the amount of players, that might be the case but at the moment i can’t see it. Give it a gander!
I wonder what other people think! =)
Thank you.
Regards,
Xanderboom
We were 8 people and certainly managed to claim our guild :/
Not sure why you can’t seem to do it, have you tried focusing on several different mobs at the same time, like lets say, you have 1 group attack the shielding mobs, and then have another group focus on all the adds ?
Thats what we did, we honostly had the most trouble with the end boss – but even so still managed to do it on our first try.
Managed to unlock ours with 7 people, though it could have easily been done with 6, even with 3 of our 5 events spawning on opposite sides of the map.
It’s just basic PvE stuff. Have your party stay together swift themselves to run between enemies. You have ~10s of free time between enemies, so use that time to swift up and make your way to the center platform (so you have less distance to run). Engage with wide area blinds like sandstorm or well of darkness. Focus fire down the vine tenders amongst your aoeing, and then burst the maw itself.
Maw has a huge hitbox, so multi-hit things work well (icebow, meteor storm, etc.) and chronomancers/mesmers should save their continuum/timewarping for the maw itself.
It was fun, but pretty easy.

A guildie decided he wanted a personal guild hall (he’s pretty rich and he wants to make a mega jp) and I know he was able to claim it w/ 4 people. I don’t think there’s a number issue…the final boss may be difficult, but reaching the timed mobs should not be hard? Does everyone you are doing it with have glider to get to some of the further ones w/o taking the stairs, and are you efficiently targetting the vinetenders before the big maw? That’s really all I can think of…
I have only done it w/ ~25 people (split into 2 groups to reach all the things) and heard about the 4-man claim, so I am not sure how it scales for 8, but you might just need to strategize differently. Good luck!
We unlocked our guild hall with just 5 people.
Its just the final boss which can catch you out if you play melee/melee… Which forced me to play 1 melee weapon 1 ranged weapon (warrior). But these encounters make me wonder why on earth did the warrior get a Torch as an elite weapon and not a main hand pistol? Since I’m finding the need for a one handed ranged weapon more important than a silly offhand weapon that does very little other than create pretty effects (of course it causes burning and cleanses two conditions).
But anyways, the guild halls are possible to be unlocked with 5 or so players, it may take you a few tries, but you’ll get it in the end when you finally know the attack animations!
Split up in groups of 4-5 peeps… make sure you always have a group standing by at the remote area of the map… so they can engage a new spawn quickly.
That works. You do not need many people.
Also having more people with masteries for moving around more quickly makes it even easier.
