If you’re like me, you probably have a number of solo guilds you made for any number of reasons and represent 90% of the time. For example, I have a solo guild I’ve managed to upgrade a few bits and pieces very slowly with the small amount of influence one player can rack up without spending gold on it. In GW1, you could pay a small fee of 10 platinum, or 20? I don’t remember, it’s been so long. I had my own guild hall in GW1 in my solo guild. Please tell me it’s not too difficult to obtain one without having to have a ton of people giving you influence.

you’ll probably have to bit the bullet and spend the coin > influence for a hall. I’m guessing a guild hall will be high 5, maybe low 6 figures worth of influence at least.

I’d think the initial purchase won’t be TOO expensive, so that smaller guilds can also have a place to hang out. But as you upgrade/expand I’m sure the prices will increase greatly. Guess we’ll see :^)

Stuff like that is usually prime gold sink territory. I’d expect prices and upgrades to be very expensive to help get the economy back in order.

Instead of a guild hall for a single player guild, there should be an improvement for the home instance, so that can feel as homey/comfy as a guild hall (though with less of the multiplayer social interaction)

My guild consists of 5 people, old friends I also had the luck to call my guildmates in GW1. I would be really disappointed if flashy guildhalls are limited to huge guilds only.

This. I don’t think ANet should be catering to solo guilds. Rather ask why do people have solo guilds, or why would people want solo guilds and than cater to the underlying needs (if applicable).

I think some people. do prefer small guilds, so a smaller guild hall would work for them.

Some other people prefer single player guilds, but want to build up the influence for their single guild so that they can get the benefits they want (though of course, its going to be realllly slow)

I don’t know – as it is, the guild status and perks of GW 2 awards big guilds far mroe then small ones, with far less diminishing returns. It does remove an element from it (my fave guild was the one I was onve in but, alas, it was disbanded because it didn’t have enough players).

That being said, I think anet should really look into how the home instance can be improved for the indepndent single player. A guild hall is one thing but, kitten: I would like to be able to improve my home instance. Or even buy my own house (which would cost a lot of material and material, but heck)

Heeeeck, maybe even find a way to merge the pact ship/royal terrace pass into specialized home instances, on top of their current benefits. I mean – why not?

A nice idea. On the other hand I think the guildhalls should also be affordable for guilds with just a handful of players. I can understand slower progress on upgrades, buildings, etc, but it shouldn’t take a year to get a simple thing going.
I’ve got a guild with four friends I ran with since GW1. We all know each other and sometimes we joked around in our nice vabbi-guildhall.
Just chilling in each others home instance? Nah.

I think core assets for guilds such as a banker, a trading post assistant, the guild bank, etc, should be easy to acquire no matter what size your guild is. Anything cosmetic, anything that expands the size of your hall or adds to the unique and rich look and feel of your hall, those should be the items you work for.

I hope the crafting-stations aren’t that expensive either. Of course my small guild won’t be able to instantly unearth a giant charr-forge, but a small forge like the crafting stations in the cities would be nice.

Personally I would be happy with a small guildhall with the functions I’d have in a city. A scenikittentle village, a small keep, I’m not picky as long as the view is pleasing.

I’m not in a solo guild. I’m in one with a couple of friends from GW1. We only have bounty training so far and a few other bits, but we barely ever on at the same time to give it a go :-/
As for trying to expand, finding interested people to join for a smaller group that get on a few times a week (if that? – holidays/work/etc) is near impossible. Especially when the last few times i remember doing dungeons, people complain like crazy or kick for not having “the right gear”, wouldn’t wanna ask those people :-P – I just hope it’s somthing manageable, we’ll get there slowly Will be good to have our own place.

That would be okay, as long as it is not gated behind merits, or some similar mechanics that excludes smaller guilds from the get go. Guild missions were a failure in that regard.

Actions, not words.

Not as much of a hall than a yurt.
