Im sorry but you just took out crafting stations out of WvW and im wondering if your gonna do anything for the guilds halls since it seems you anet keep taking stuff away.

Guild halls should have crafting stations and mini games. My guild is a small and we have worked it up to about level 47 and honestly there is no reason to go in there except to upgrade more crap that it needs.

It needs alot more stuff to decorate with, it needs someway to make mini games such as belchers bluff or better yet some of the mini games in the actual HOT meta events. Like a practice arena that you unlock at a certain level.

As someone who mostly PvP and has to farm mats to do anything in this game. Im wondering why nothing has been added to guild halls and why nothing has changed for PvP?

Seriously HOT has felt way more grindy/work since guild halls was suppose to be a fun thing but they are more just empty spaces then anything. Then anet has fallen short on legendarys, PvP is still relatively unbalanced and i have 3 other servers on my team this week for WvW. So all together we are a 4 server team vs a 2 and a 3. I wonder who is winning? I find it amazing that HOT is simply just trying to improve/fix current items and dont have have any ability to add/upgrade anything.

i hadn’t noticed that they were gone until now…. and am really disappointed. i used to use the crafting in the original WvW maps because it takes WAY too long to load into LA, and the other major cities…. when the original borderlands maps were replaced with those other ones, i didn’t do that anymore… but now that they’re back, and i got in the habit of going to Rata Sum to craft, i just checked (after seeing this thread while looking for guild hall threads). they’re not here…. i’d MUCH rather come to the citadel than have the ridiculously long loading times for the big cities….. and now that’s out of the question.

put them back please!!! or at least put them as upgrades in the guild halls!!!

If you just want to avoid city load times, every starter map has a crafting area near a wp, such as Claypool in Queensdale. The one in Caledon is annoying as that wp can get contested but I think all the others are permanently available.

Also Ebonhawke has a crafting row, though the npc merchants are occasionally too far from the machines to have their window and the craft window open at the same time. As I only buy mats such as thermo reagents when I have immediate need for them, this makes those stations pretty useless to me. (Ditto for the leatherworker in DR, if a dev happens to be reading this and can coax him just a little closer …).

Yes the guild hall became an important piece of the guild and it should be treated like such. Crafting stations can be placed in various locations and i will take lost precipice as an example here: crafting stations can be placed in the harbor area. There is much room in the market district or even across the tavern to place a black lion merchant. a bank station could be placed near the vault with maybe a black lion weapon merchant.

Functionality should come with some beauty as well aka more decorations and a higher limit. To make a guild hall the place to be there should be more items added to give it the guild more personal touch. Guild flags, carpets and statues should be a part of this.
In the LP there are a lot of houses which can be decorated but still some annoyances have been found like the amount of items place able in a small location, placing items which hover in mid air because of a small piece of ground and of course the amount of tiny decorations currently only seen in PvE.
Since i ticked this subject i would really like to see:
1. beds
2. monuments dedicated to PvP and WvW like a mini SM or PvP arena to be placable.
3. carpets
4. edditable signs(tricky and very hard to make i know)
5. more plants
6. more tiny objects like placable scribing sets(like they had in the medival ages)
7. A lot more interactive items like the items added through the special events
8. more construction items to craft our own houses(i mean things like walls and doorposts
9. interactive doors
10. Open more buildings currently locked of by wooden panels.

please all make this post a big hit on the site and keep posting ideas so a few might be even added in the future.

Guild Halls are far too big. You have an area almost as big as Auric Basin and there is almost nothing in it. Yes, we also need crafting stations, maybe a mystic forge, mini games and other stuff like that. But we just plain need a more sensibly sized space.

… sort of like the multi-story guild HQ in LA, lol.

The guild halls themselves are so utterly pointless. Everything could have been done in the HQ with much, much less design effort from Anet. It even looks like an actual guild hall. The “guild halls” now is like reject unfinished HoT PvE maps they just slapped some waypoints on and went “hey, look at this, its guild halls!”.

But I digress. If they can get some kitten crafting stations in there they are usable enough.

They removed the crafting stations from WvW because some complained that a few people from PvE spent some time crafting during peak time when the border was full and had people waiting. You might read that as WvW guilds couldn’t go raiding because one or two of their people couldn’t get on the map.

They could have moved the crafting stations to the sPvP area and made it more open to other people. Most of the time people just stand around in there waiting to get into their next match so they could be doing some crafting. I often use storage/bank/merchant there rather than cross most of a map.

I would certainly like there to be other crafting stations than just the scribing one in the Guild hall. There are suitable areas in the empty buildings around the northern waypoint in Lost Precipice.

The ‘arena’ area is just too small to be useful. Anet, thinking that you can guild PvP on a postage stamp, it just isn’t going to work.

Right at the beginning we were promised, amongst other things, a pub brawl minigame. They might get around to putting this in, Guild Hall would be a good location.

At the same time the number of map changes when people enter or leave could be reduced. It seems that every couple of people going in requires a new map to be made.

What guild halls need first and foremost is to remember which waypoints you’ve unlocked for each guild you’re in, so when you switch representations and come back to one all the waypoints aren’t locked again. It’s tedious and detracts from using the hall to its fullest.

I feel that the halls were rushed into the expansion or they will slowly add stuff 1/2 a year at a time. Anyways they should of had much more at release. “Further Exploration” should be continued.(i hope its continued) In Gilded Hollow I could use a WP on the 3rd level (@ the picture below) and on the roof!

Since they are so empty I use the guild hall as my own personal minecraft construction area! I build JPs weekly for the guild and have a “Guild Games” going on currently to coincide with the summer Olympics. (many little self made jps, hurdles, gliding obstacles, ya know fun!)

I love exploration and wish there were more hidden areas, because i think i’ve just about found them all.

Guild halls also could have been done like the home instance in the Salma district in Divinities Reach. That way people could have homes! yeah, they’d be instanced but yer guild mates could see it. Or there could be alliances with other guilds and much like entering Fotm and they now list each fractal level before you enter, you could also inside the instance approach a door and see who has a house there if anyone does a click on there name to go in and look at their stuff. just some ideas.

I would love it if we could build those Asura magitech consoles that Taimi was fiddling with in LS3, or let me construct my own asura gates, even if it doesn’t go anywhere.

Crafting stations are a must. I shouldn’t have to go to a city or starting area to craft stuff for my characters or guildmates. There is no advantage for me to go to a city to craft. Crafting stations seem like a shoe-in for the Workshop Proprietor, who for some reason has no actual upgrades for the workshop (besides the Level 2 upgrade for the building) other than giving you additional crafting material nodes outside.

I feel like we need to have some tangible decorations to interact with, similar to the dragon statue and the lunar fireworks. The PvP Arena idea should be expanded to allow you to PvP anywhere in the guild hall. I had this idea where we build a spiral staircase and at the top we have a player flagged for PvP who acted like the final boss of the area and everyone else had to fight him/her. Fun stuff like this would really liven up the guild hall. Unfortunately, we can’t have this sort of activity… yet.

That said, why don’t we have guild missions in our guild halls? Or even modular guild missions where the players design them for the rest of the guild? Guild missions designed for the guild by the guild members. Personally, I think the guild mission system is overdue for a revamp. Our guild halls are large enough to hide numerous guild trek glowing circles, and people have designed incredible jumping puzzles.

I would also like to reposition my guild hall’s waypoints. Why are none of my waypoints in or even near the market/WvW area on Lost Precipice, but I have one right on top of my mine proprietor, whom I have only talked to maybe three times in total? But this might be asking for too much.

Back when HOT launched, Anet said they were working on a bigger guild PvP arena. I would love to know if that is still on the table.

And, to back up what Zephic said above, I would love to see some guild missions inside the hall. I’ve always wanted to see some kind of “defend the hall” mission based around the fights we did when we first captured the hall (and also a huge YES to the idea of minigames inside the hall).

I think you guys are being kinda harsh.

For one, they just put out Guild Halls pretty much, and ANet’s got a LOT of stuff to work on besides them. Not to say that they won’t get worked on but you guys have to have patience. Another thing is, the private arenas are probably only really meant for 1v1’s or perhaps 4 player FFA at max. Now, according to Blaeys, ANet’s working on it. So again, gotta be patient.

It’s more about giving feedback than being harsh. I totally agree with being patient as ANet has plenty on their plates.

I love the guild halls, but it just feels so empty and lackluster with no ability to host events, or guild missions within the guild hall itself. Everyone uses it for quick and easy access to repair, merchant, bank, and once per day farm at the nodes.

Sure if the guildmaster is a creative person, he/she could come up with their own events, but with very limited tools at their disposal.

I also like the fact that they gave us increased the number of decorations to add to our halls in the last patch and I hope they are working on new and better features, but I personally haven’t heard much. If they are working on new guild features then that is great! I really hope to hear about them soon.

Like I mentioned earlier, guild missions really need a revamp. We’re still running the same missions as three years ago. I would love it if they gave us some degree of modular control over them, but that may be very far off in the future.

They they should come fully stocked and not basically empty with nothing for guildies to do. You don’t build a house and forget to add the plumbing “Oh, well get to that later.”

I expected guild halls as massive as they are to be beaming with things to do, It’s been almost a year and nothing new has happened other then doubling the decoration cap which should not have been an issue in the first place since decorating is a gold sink, and people don’t do it.

Another thing is, the private arenas are probably only really meant for 1v1’s or perhaps 4 player FFA at max. Now, according to Blaeys, ANet’s working on it. So again, gotta be patient.

Some people don’t like the time and effort it takes to add things to halls, but for the guilds I belong to, communally building up the hall has added to the guild cohesiveness. It’s nice to know you can contribute to something bigger than yourself that is helping all of your guildmates. If the guild halls came fully furnished, then there would truly be nothing to do.

Unless you’re intimately related with the code, you may want to stay away from making such arguments. I’m sorry that no one in your guild is decorating, but for three of the four guilds that I belong to, it’s an on-going process, and yes, a wonderful gold sink.

Basic things like movement around the hall – Waypoints for instance, gilded hollow has four levels and only 2 of them have wps. I had expected Further Exploration to continue on a new xpac launch beyond stage 2, and was disappointed when i found out that’s it. The halls are so massive, they do feel empty – many people think that. They weren’t adequate with the abilities and functionality they provided at launch(further exploration, amount of decorations(and variety of) – probably due to the number # limitations. I’m sure they are working on things for a slow roll out over time(2years?). It just feels that true expansion not DLC should have everything at point of sale and not add bits here and there later on. Ofcourse its the guild members will do the interior decorating- that’s not what i meant. But i think you touched on an important thing, not all people want to sink their gold into something that isn’t theirs, especially if they can be kicked out of a guild or permissions yanked away or not given in the first place. These specific problems hurt the guild cohesiveness you mentioned.
I’m my guilds sole scribe- so maybe i have a different view on things. I’d love to decorate more, and have made many things because i like crafting and love exploring, but the cost is too much for just a few. Which is why so many would prefer personal housing that they can decorate and make their own, but then again that’s not guild halls.

Its not harsh,

Alot of us paid like myself paid $100 for HOT and i really only kind of do the stuff i did from GW2 core. I PvP, WvW and farm my home node and Guild hall. Boom 30-60 min of GW2 play done.

Guild halls hasnt given me anything. The Guild PvP arena has given my guild maybe 2-3 hrs of troll fun time but other then that i cant say much.

People here have suggested beds, carpets, houses etc etc etc. We all thought that was what these giant guild halls were gonna be for. Guild halls are glorified home instances or a guild toilet which is what my guild has called it. My guild hall is at level 51 and it was about 5-6 who put all the crap in. If we didnt put anything in the guild hall we could of gotten 2 legendarys each.

The merchants ask for 10 guild commendations, 5 gold, 1 million crystallized orr and other crap and my guild mates and I are like they know they are living in our Guild Hall right? Literally throw 500g worth of mats into a daily vendor who offers bloodstone dust. OMG thank you so much guild vendor, i can get blodstone dust from you and another wagon. You treat me so good.

My guild mates have stopped putting stuff in the guild hall since there is no reason too. Im just saying i spent $100 on HOT and HOT is a spammy new meta each season where warrior was a dumpster season 1, thief and DH season 2 and now ele so PvP is broken. The WvW map they brought is was straight dump and they brought in the trolliest event with super speed golems. Seriously anet do you hate WvW because that was harsh for any server who wasnt the alpha those 2-4 weeks.

Im seriously wondering where my $100 went since alot of my guild members dont raid, they quit on legendary weapons and when it came to the HOT story line i felt my 4 year old son wrote it.

Its been a year for HOT basically and i cant even build a house or have my own room in this giant guild toilet. If it was meant to feel homey unlike the home instance they failed and im still waiting for the improvements.

Yeah the increased the decoration cap but still you can place only a few near each other before it says that there are too many decorations in one area – which sucks because it really limits the way one can build something. I tried to make a golem out of rocks. Impossible at the moment. I can perfectly see that they want to make sure that the performance in guild halls is stable, but in my opinion these halls could be a a lot smaller – as long as we get to customize it a bit more. I prefer that in any way over large empty places.
