Guild vs Guild
I think stronghold mode will be a standard PvP mode now that anyone can play, but yes, it will be used for GvG and have a leaderboard specifically for guild rankings.
Its not really GvG. Its sPvP. The GvG in guild wars 2 that the community has asked for isn’t the same as stronghold.
Right, but stronghold will have a GvG option along with a GvG specific leaderboard for guilds to compete in
I think it’s a nice compromise. You can still play with non-guildies but the gamemode is mostly the same as GvG with some updates and there’s a Guild leaderboard.

The community asked for Guild Wars 1 style GvG WAYYYYY before the WvW community came up with a 20v20 deathmatch ‘GvG game mode’. If you want to play zerg vs zerg, then stick to WvW. If you want to play coordinated GvG with in depth mechanics where only good players can succeed, then you’ll have to play REAL GvG GW1 style.

IF the community reaaaaaallllllly wanted a GW1 style GvG game mode they would have made it themselves in the same way they made the existing one.

This isn’t true LOL. Even the devs themselves have acknowledged that the GvG they believe that players ask for isn’t necessarily a gw1 version with ppt and lords and flags, but a deathmatch style. Jon peters said this in the april feature pack interview.
You have no clue whatsoever about gvg in gw2, and if you think it takes no skill then make a guild and go beat people lol.
