Guilds search
a guild board where guilds could advertise their guild ?
interisting I think some other mmo´s have something like that
maybe the looking for group tool could be a basis for something like that
but the guild should only be listed when the leader or a player with invite permision is on so the guild boards doesnt get overloaded with guild advertisments from dead guilds
We have never had to spam in cities and we still have an average of 250-300 members. In fact, im sure that someone looking for a guild completely ignores the spamming because most of the times those guilds take anyone, even those that are detrimental to a stable guild.
Most servers, if not all, have a dedicated server forum. There are “Looking for guild” and “Guild looking for members” threads there. Heck, there are threads in these forums aswell.
That said; Making something similar to the lfg tool would be an idea, but i feel that the advertisement should dissappear as soon as the person who posted it either ends it or logs off, same as the lfg tool.
However, i still believe that the majority of people looking for a guild would not use this. Its better to do your homework and research a guild before joining.
I understand how you think that if you want join a guild you most do a lot of search on forum and etc, but not everyone is like that. Some of use just want find a Guild in the game without the need to go on forums or google and search for 3 hours. Furthermore, we have our Guild on forums and sides like reddit, but I also have invited great members from the map chat that are super Active in game and joins us on Mumble etc. Also, I believe that’s how most Guilds got their members when the game first came out. I know that’s how I found my guild.
When it comes to how the guild board should work, I think there should be a list of all the NA & EU servers so, you can find the guild that’s from your server, and add box check for things like WvW guild, Pve guild, Spvp guild or a guild that does everything.

That’s been my experience as well. Those guilds typically end up with 400 members, only 10% of which actually log in.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
No, we dont. We had our guild’s 10th anniverssary this year and in all those years (ive been a member going on 7 years now) we have had the (unofficial) rule of not actively recruiting , apart from forumposts.
We also have quite a long applicationprocess where each aspiring member has to apply on our forums, undergo an interview with one or several officers and then, when invited, becomes one of our little buddies. Little buddies get matched to a Big Buddy, a veteran guildmember whose playtime and preferences match the new recruit. They will introduce them to other guildies, inform them of guildevents, invite them on runs etc. This system was thought up during the first year of gw2, after we got a huge influx of new members and no way to keep track of them.
It helps create a solid bond between the guild and the new member, ensuring that no new member is forgotten and feels left out.
I am sure you have gotten good members with spamming in cities. In my experience however, going back to GW1 before i joined my current guild, spamming in cities attracts the wrong kind of players more often then it attracts the right kind.
As far as the guildboard is concerned, i still feel the posts need to be temporary. Even though i still feel such a tool would be too limited. Pretty sure the amount of text that is alloted in the lfg tool is minimal.
