Hey there community.

I have been doing the collection and all that comes with it for a while now and last week I bumped into HOPE IV. I went by order and it was all fine (some a little more tricky than the others, but after trying a few times and waiting here and there I got the stuff I needed). Then I bumped into the Phial in which you need to kill the Champion Risen Wraith. It did not seem like too hard of a thing until I realized that for the Champion Risen Wraith to even spawn you need to wait at least 10 Minutes for the defend event (and the champion) to spawn. Now if you have done Malchor’s Leap once or twice and seen the temple of Lyssa, everyone knows everyone will just go straight for Lyssa (Who is the main event) to kill her.

I can’t blame the people who do and ignore those that request for people to wait. It’s not their problem/they don’t care/perhaps they just want to troll. It is more an event that is designed for the community in GW2, rather than to work together, to work against each other. After all it will be 1-3 people asking 20 people to wait 5-10 minutes longer with killing Lyssa so they can get their collectible item.

The past week I have camped my character at the waypoint where the event will spawn along with the wraith and have had a handful of chances. Yet every time I’ve tried people kill Lyssa way to quickly for it to even spawn. The closest I’ve gotten is for the wraith to be at 75% where there were 4 people who killed Lyssa with ease (but somewhat slow).

I’ve seen people post threads and I’ve heard from people that have HOPE that it is the worst one to do and that it took them weeks and that they only gained it by luck. Some of them have gotten the item from GMs as well, but they stopped doing that.

My request, with this thread, is for the developers to look into the question and to either change the dynamic of the event or the way to obtain the collectible. After all while I’m sure everyone supports that obtaining a legendary should be difficult and complex that it shouldn’t be nearly impossible and should revolve around you camping a waypoint for weeks straight.

Also I’d advice for anyone who is thinking about getting HOPE, to either prepare yourself for the worst thing ever or to wait until they fix it, because it really is ridiculous.

They are already working on changing the achievements that require events to fail.

Yeah, they’ve been saying that for months now though. :/ I dunno, I contacted the helpdesk and they recommended to post a thread so here we are.

Im having the same issue. it is the last item I need but its impossible to obtain because people keep killing Lyssa instead of waiting. It feel pretty hopeless but its difficult to say screw it because I could have the pistol right now if I could only get people to cooperate

I have the same problem and I have just sent a ticket “hoping” they can help.
If they have sent the item to some other people before, I do not understand the reason why they have stopped doing that.
So I “hope” they give us a quick solution rather than waiting for the developers change the events chain

Although I was one of the lucky ones to get the Phial eventually I still want to +1 this thread. I had a char parked at the temple of lyssa andjumped into it every now and then to see if the even is running. Finally, after two weeks of waiting at 3 in the morning it was possible to get the wraith to spawn…

Players should not be forced to beg and persuade other players to not play the way they want. Pls adress this as it is blocking people from their progress.

only been doing it a couple days, but to require a mob that only spawns when the event scales, to also be dependant on it’s sister event NOT being completed before it, is an absolutely atrocious requirement. it would be different if you could get it from ANY risen wraith of champion rank, but i cant even find another one.

I also like how I was told by someone from their support team that i should report players who are intentionally preventing me from getting the achievement… it makes me want to report everyone, but I cant, since the only think theyre doing is trying to complete an event. i literally cannot do anything.

well… got lucky, he spawned at the beginning of the lyssa event.

Oh boy, I’m almost done crafting prototype, which means ill start HOPE IV very soon, didn’t know about this tho :S. So, all in all you need a lot of luck to achieve this?

Until they fix it they should just send IV to people that have completed the first 3 parts. It’s ludicrous that it was implemented this way and tested and passed like that.

I killed the Lich on January 1st right in the morning on first try, when everyone had a hangover and was probably sleeping.

Hope (pardon the pun) for this may be forthcoming:

‘•Hope IV: Risen Crystalline Phial: what I’m trying to do is make the wraith spawn more reliably, and without having to stall the event for a long time. Again, I just need a second set of eyes to make sure I’m not introducing new bugs.’

I’m experiencing this as well. Players should work together and rejoice in the presence of friendlies, instead of cursing their existence for rolling in, and crushing your progression.

That update was 2 weeks ago and still nothing, why does something so simple take so long to fix? It only takes 1 or 2 people to completely ruin this step of the collection for everyone else trying to get the item.

You should read this. It was fixed a week ago today.
