I played the HOT beta and was sooooo excited to play the full release. I think I may have even talking the day off.
Then when I played the game it felt totally different. and I didn’t like it at all.
By the time I entered the second zone I hated it. not because it sucked but because it was nothing like the beta and it kinda sucked too i guess.
anyway, its been away and im still wondering why did I hate it so. Was I supposed to buy an additional pack like the living world? I remember lord falin and the other missions is that behind a pay wall or what?

What was different from beta to release, other than the mobs getting toned down and you not starting in the same section of the map now that you have all of Verdant Brink available? As in, what in particular did you like at first that felt wrong later?

Lord Faren is part of the Noble Crash Site event chain in the southwest portion of Verdant Brink. There are five event chains that begin simultaneously at daybreak, one for each sector, and if all five are completed the map gets extra rewards (I think; that latter may have changed in April so as to spread out rewards more for solo participation regardless of overall map progress). There is no paywall. If you have HoT, which you must or you couldn’t have gotten to Auric Basin, you have everything the game currently offers including the HoT living story. And you will have permanent free access to Living Story 3 starting July 26 so long as you log into game at least once during the initial release window (which could be months long).

Yeah, I can’t say I noticed a real difference between beta and the actual game. As Donari said, Faren’s chain is still in there, too.
