Have Any Sylvari Heard Mordremoth?
My sylvari mesmer heard mordremoth’s voice in the story instance at several points, all other characters did not.
Have Any Sylvari Heard Mordremoth?

No, and I don’t think Mordremoth will ever speak to any PC, because I don’t think the player base would forgive ArenaNet if they were forced upon being turned into a villain.
I still don’t understand why people think this will happen.

I’m sorry to tell you but if you create a sylvari and play HoT story, you will hear Mordremoth giving commands.
All my beta characters are sylvari, and I’ve heard Mordremoth issuing commands to his subordinates, threatening the pact survivors and responding to his subordinates requests for help dealing with us.

Oh, that isn’t just a thing they’ve added in since the last Beta? Didn’t realize only Sylvari got to hear Mordy’s melodic voice :O
Ah, I did hear that. I was expecting things targeted at me.
yep, loud and clear.
When I heard that, I was like going OMG!
Wait, so non-sylvari don’t hear Mordremoth? I’m a sylvari lover so all my beta toons are our favorite salads. I thought that was one of the coolest parts of the beta hearing the DRAGON itself speak!

My sylvari hasn’t heard mordy
My third beta alt is a Norn Reaper. Mordy’s commands to his followers to slay us all were not heard. Also the disgruntled Charr that leaves when the Sylvari Commander elects to aid Laranthir stayed in camp to protect people when I was on the Norn.
KellyCDB, if you did the initial story step on a sylvari and heard a deep growly voice demand that its followers kill us all, that was apparently the part where we do hear Mordy. I was expecting him to try to order me about, so I didn’t realize that wasn’t audible to non-sylvari. Now I wonder what happens if a sylvari opens the instance with party members who are of other races — will the latter hear him or not?

I may have flipped out a little too much when I heard Mordy’s voice. It’s a good touch!

My sister played a sylvari and opened the instance, while I played an asura. She saw his text/heard his voice and I did not.
Thank you for posting this. It’s a nice touch.
made one too see if this is true and can confirm that it is.
I definitely heard him, didn’t realize it’s Silvari only though, that’s a great touch.
While I like that there’s a difference for Sylvari (even if I’m still not fond of the whole Sylvari → Minions twist), I don’t like that we get a normal voicing saying normal things.
Still think the Dragon’s should have kept with the unknowable forces of nature thing, and any ‘voice’ you hear from Mordremoth should have been an unintelligible, maddening whisper that occurs randomly in the jungle(rather than accompanying any specific events).
A shame fun things could not simply be fun.
It is a nice touch, but I think sylvari and non sylvari players will have semi diffrent things happen. The one female charr if your sylvari leaves if you side with lanathir which you have to for beta however if your not a sylvari she stays and helps.
I heard it at the camp, but not at the first boss fight. On one hand, it’s a nice touch, and the voice does sound menacing. However, I agree that it makes Mordremoth feel less like a force of nature or a dragon and more similar to just a dragon champion or something lesser ordering these minions about, even though as a sylvari it makes sense for us to be able to at least comprehend it’s speaking to an extent now.
Perhaps a better way would be to have a growl/whisper or some other unintelligible dragon noise when it talks, but have words we can understand pop in at certain parts, like “kill”, “capture”, “I see you”, etc.
