Deal damage = loot.
Heal allies = no loot.

Will healers get their reward in HoT?

So hard to maybe use the “normal” 1 skill for 2 seconds .. or any of those glyphs
that have those nice CC effects and do .. oh wonder .. some damage ?
Heck .. even in Trinity Games as a healer i also constantly made damage inbetween.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Deal damage = loot

Heal allies = loot

In case of druid
You seem to forgot that pet can tag mob for you and you still have damage skill…right?

Actually your wrong, and sadly off by a landslide….

Druid pretty much 1-2 dmg skills w/staff everything else is heal heal heal, as for the glyphs and crap, heal buff slight buff, and no dmg

So all in all, they pigeon-holed the druid to exclusively heals, even priests in other games get more damage skills

The moment your role is primarily associated with healing and restoring health you are considered a healer even if it means dealing damage in order to heal associated targets.

The medic in first person shooter games is still considered a healer despite the fact that you can yoloscope headshots with your sidearm because he is in fact there to save people regardless.

The holy paladin in WoW is considered a healer despite the fact that in overall TTK, he needs to deal damage to help build holy power to ensure mana efficiency for big heals on top of which one of his spells will either AoE damage enemies if you heal someone with it or will AoE heal party members if you do the opposite which is to deal damage with that same spell.

Healing does not mean standing 100 miles in the back spamming flash of light.

So all in all, they pigeon-holed the druid to exclusively heals, even priests in other games get more damage skills

so lets grab the staff skills here ok?
1: Solar Beam: Fire a concentrated beam of light, damaging the targeted foe and healing allies inside of the beam.

keywords? “damaging targeted foe”

2: Astral Wisp: Send a wisp to attach to your foe. While attached it will circle the foe, healing allies it passes through.

from screenshots of tooltip I recall damage stat hmm really weird :P
[3 is positioning/heal tool]

4: Vine Surge: Send forth vines that immobilize enemies and cleanse conditions from allies. – good enought to grab loot at least – also iirc tooltip from screenshots from the stream mentioned bleeding…..

5 is pure trolling against projectile enemies at its best although no damage so does not contribute to getting loot (which should nto be a problem basing alone on AA skill 2 and 4)

traits:
- for the sake of keeping it short and clean I’ll list only the ones taht contributes onb issue of op:
Primal Echoes: Reduces recharge of staff skills. Daze nearby foes when you swap to staff.
afaik dazes also contributs to getting loot from mobs
Ancient Seeds: Striking a stunned, dazed, knocked down, or launched foe summons roots to entangle them.
if its not combat trait I dunno what it is

glyphs….
Glyph of the Tides – pushing and pulling was contributing for loot last time I checked…
Glyph of Empowerment: Increase outgoing damage of nearby allies. – I would have to check again onb it but last time I checked – which was pretty long time ago so I can be wrong on that – empowering ally was giving you credit for loot
Glyph of Equality: Daze nearby foes. – same as staff trait – dazes are usually enought to get yer loot
Glyph of Alignment: Damage and apply conditions to nearby foes. – that looks like totally damage skill
and then lets not forget that druid is still a ranger and by this have access to:
any ranger weapon he likes on weapon swap
PETS – as these may be hated idea in our community – pets are damaging foes and giving player contribution to get his loot

this was for OPS concern mostly – now to adress your point about pigeon holing – every druid is at first a ranger class where druid is only one of three specialisations (elite one though so more impactfull than the rest by itself) within the class – the specialisation itself does not need any more “damaging tools” because base ranger even with 2 specialisations to choose from have more than enought of them to work.

so if instead of taking the specialisation of of class context you compare full options of ranger deciding to go druid – he will have a way more offensive options than literaly any priest out there…..
