Guild Wars 2

I have been having a lot of problems with the Heart of Mind Story. It could just be my total lack of gaming skill but when I fight the final boss I have problems opening the glider and taking to the air. I jump and it only opens occasionally. By opening occasionally I have progressed to the third time you are suppose to take to flight but whenever you can’t fly there is a good chance you die and need to restart the fight again. I have restarted the third flight 3 times now and sometimes I take off and get knocked down others times I get air born but come down and cannot take off again and the last time I just couldn’t even get off the ground. This is very frustrating since failure means restarting the fight. I have been in the mission for over 4 hours now and trying to decide if I should just call it quits or try again. I read some old forum post where people were complaining about the gliding in this mission but that was 2 months ago and nothing recent. I assumed that bug was fixed so this is probably my incompetence. Any tips?
